Jake Gyllenhaal Will Make His Video Game Movie Return In Ubisoft's THE DIVISION
If you're excited to see Michael Fassbender's Assassin's Creed, then you're probably going to love the fact that Ubisoft is creating a video game to film adaptation based on Tom Clancy's The Division with Jake Gyllenhaal.
Michael Fassbender is set to bring the Assassin’s Creed video game franchise to life this December in what looks to be the first film to break the video game movie curse. Now, Variety has revealed that Ubisoft Motion Pictures has already started preparing to expand their slate of video game to film adaptations with their fastest-selling video game of the year, Tom Clancy's The Division.
According to Variety, actor Jake Gyllenhaal has signed on to star in Ubisoft's The Division, while also serving as a producer on the film. As of now, there is no word from Ubisoft, and Variety mentions that the film is currently looking for a writer to pen the script. The last time Gyllenhaal starred in a live action film adaptation based on a video game was in 2010's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, another Ubisoft property.
