JAMES BOND Producers May Be Eyeing KRAVEN THE HUNTER Star Aaron Taylor-Johnson To Play Next 007

Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Avengers: Age of Ultron) is an actor with plenty of blockbuster experience, and if a new report is to be believed, the Kraven the Hunter star may be the frontrunner to play 007...

There's a huge amount of excitement surrounding who will ultimately be chosen to play the next James Bond, with many fans concerned that their top picks - Henry Cavill, Idris Elba, and Jamie Dornan, for example - will be aged out by the time the next movie finally begins shooting.

Producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson recently said they're looking to find an actor who will commit to the role for the long haul, with the latter later following up by making it clear that they're not planning to cast a considerably younger actor as Daniel Craig's replacement. However, they are looking for someone in their late 20s or, more likely, their early 30s.

Someone we hadn't considered, who would be the perfect age at 32, is Kick-Ass, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Kraven the Hunter star Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

According to The Sun (via ActioNewz.com), the British actor has emerged as the frontrunner for the role after taking part in what they describe as a "top-secret screen test." So-called sources tell the tabloid - which isn't the most reliable source of news - that Taylor-Johnson impressed Broccoli with an audition at Pinewood Studios.

One insider is reported to have said, "Aaron went for a screen test to be the next Bond in September and producers and Barbara loved him. He is now one of the front-runners."

Believe it or not, the site has been right in the past - very rarely, admittedly - so we won't entirely discount the possibility that the Bullet Train star could be our next 007. Taylor-Johnson would be an exciting, unexpected choice, and a massive role like this is arguably a logical next step for an actor who has impressed time and time again.

An official announcement isn't expected to be made until well into 2023, if not later, so we'll see what happens. Even if Taylor-Johnson did audition, we're sure he wasn't the only one, and there's nothing to say he'll actually want to play Bond.

I can live with that. He's young enough to carry the franchise for a few years.

I'm down. Give him the scars and we are good to go. I'm typically not too big on physical features, but the scars tell an important part of the character that's been missing in the films.

To quote Bond himself: "You must be joking?!" 😳

The second coming of George Lazenby. (Looks good enough in a tux but generally speaking; hopelessly stiff as an actor.) 🫤

Not a fan of this choice. Hope I'm wrong in the event he does get it.

@Repian - this is one of the very few ways I would get excited for another Bond film… but Eggers would never do it
