Filming for the next James Bond flick is well underway in Austria but now they face a new challenge. Originally, a sequence involving Daniel Craig jumping from a helicopter was going to be filmed in the historic Ponte Sisto bridge in Rome but now it seems those plans are over, as the Rome goverment might now prohibit the filming there. The reason? Religious complaints that argue that the bridge contains special religious significance. Previously the crew were banned from filming a car chase in the famous Quattro Fontane and now they have 2 major sequences to be re-planned, thank God for that 300M budget!
The Bond franchise is no stranger to civilian complaints. 2012´s Skyfall recieved criticism from Turkey´s goverment who claimed that roofs of their historic sites were damaged during the filming of a chase scene and even longer ago, when greek monks tried to sabotage the shooting of 1981´s For Your Eyes Only in Meteora because they believed the Bond films promoted violence. Now the question is if they will re-locate the shoot or simply do it in a soundstage.
