SPECTRE: Production in Rome Might be Cancelled After all

Filming for the next James Bond flick is well underway in Austria but now they face a new challenge. Originally, a sequence involving Daniel Craig jumping from a helicopter was going to be filmed in the historic Ponte Sisto bridge in Rome but now it seems those plans are over, as the Rome goverment might now prohibit the filming there. The reason? Religious complaints that argue that the bridge contains special  religious significance. Previously the crew were banned from filming a car chase in the famous Quattro Fontane and now they  have 2 major sequences to be re-planned, thank God for that 300M budget!

The Bond franchise is no stranger to civilian complaints. 2012´s Skyfall recieved criticism from Turkey´s goverment who claimed that roofs of their historic sites were damaged during the filming of a chase scene and even longer ago, when greek monks tried to sabotage the shooting of 1981´s For Your Eyes Only in Meteora because they believed the Bond films promoted violence. Now the question is if they will re-locate the shoot or simply do it in a soundstage.

Spectre is directed by Sam Mendes and stars Daniel Craig in his fouth performance as James Bond 007 and he is joined by returning cast members Ralph Fiennes, Naomi Harris, Rory Kinnear and Ben Whishaw. New cast members include Léa Seydoux, Monica Bellucci, David Bautista, Andrew Scott and Christoph Waltz. Spectre is scheduled to be released on 6 November 2015.

Props, my dear friends. Just rent a big ass warehouse, cover the walls in green screen and build props. Dealing with politics is too ironically illegal and is bound to cause issues.

So the monks at Meterora thought that James Bond promotes violence but they don't promote racism by only letting men in? I think you can't talk about what's wrong or right when you don't let women in a religious place, when God never said such thing about men being above women... I'm not religious but some women are and I don't see why they can't go there.

I understand the worry about damaging the Quattro Fontane as it is a tight intersection. But then again Romans are notoriously bad drivers and its impossible not the spot a multiple car crashes in the ancient city centre on any given day. Surely the scene was planned with due diligence?

Oh, here's just the last thing that religion and church is ruining here in Italy. Not surprised at all. The funny thing is that i didn't heard this at none of the news programs in TV, absolutely no media coverage here. And then, next year people will be whining and bitching because a big movie production left the country, and they will blame the "foreign people not appreciating our places" and not the [frick]ing damn church for being a dick with almost EVERYTHING.

I know who could move this situation forward: The one, and only....... POPE FRANCIS!!! WOOOOOHOOO

I don't care about the religious aspect, but I think cities have a perfectly reasonable right to say [frick] off to a movie like this which is trying to film in places with significance in order to make it seem cooler when Bond does ridiculous stuff. These are the gimmicks that the Daniel Craig era of Bond films have devolved into. Shitty actor, shitty directors, shitty writers, and lots of action-packed gimmicks. I don't know why people liked Skyfall--I thought it was a pretty crappy representation of James Bond, and was just a poorly executed film overall. Guess I'll just have to wait til Daniel Craig stops sucking Eon's dicks, so we can utilize one of the many better British actors of our time for the role.
