NO TIME TO DIE Tops F9: THE FAST SAGA To Become The Highest Grossing Movie Of 2021 Worldwide

Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and Eternals were all denied a release in China, meaning the door has been left open for other blockbusters to rake in the cash at the worldwide box office. For a time, F9: The Fast Saga was the #1 movie of 2021 with $725 million worldwide, but No Time to Die has taken aim at that number and surpassed it with a whopping $733 million.

Daniel Craig's final James Bond movie managed to hit that number by earning $154 million at the domestic box office and $579 million internationally.

In a statement, Michael De Luca, Chairman of MGM’s film group, and Pamela Abdy, MGM Film Group President, said: "We are so thrilled to see audiences returning to theaters across the world and for their ongoing support of the theatrical experience. After a long delay, we are especially gratified to know No Time to Die has entertained so many moviegoers the world over."

"This achievement is a testament to Daniel Craig and the entire cast, as well as our director Cary Fukunaga, producers Michael and Barbara, and the crew for making an incredible film."

While the James Bond movies have always been popular, the fact that this was Craig's last outing as 007 after first playing the character in 2006's Casino Royale made it feel like a major event. With an 84% score on Rotten Tomatoes, No Time to Die has also proved to be a hit with critics.

"No Time to Die is the perfect James Bond movie," we said in our review of the movie. "Action-packed, satisfying, and surprisingly heartfelt, Cary Joji Fukunaga proves an ideal fit for this franchise and helps make sure Daniel Craig, who is phenomenal here, ends his tenure as 007 in style."
