Jessica Chastain Still Has Her Heart Set On Becoming A BOND Villain
Jessica Chastain has done it all. From gothic horror flicks like Crimson Peak, to sci-fi adventures like The Martian, to tense, political thrillers like Zero Dark Thirty. However, there's one role she's always dreamed of getting - and it involves taking on James Bond himself!
Jessica Chastain is an actress who has gone from strength to strength in recent years, inhabiting a variety of roles across a wide range of genres. Some of her highlights include Oscar nominated turns in The Help and Zero Dark Thirty, and a commanding turn in Ridley Scott's critically-lauded sci-fi adventure The Martian. We'll next see her in Guillermo del Toro's gothic horror flick Crimson Peak, and it seems she's still got her eye on one role in particular.
"One of my goals is to play a villain in a Bond film," Chastain told W Magazine. "People ask me if I want to be a Bond girl, and I say, ‘No, I want to be the villain.’ I’m waiting for that call!" It's a fascinating idea. The strength of a Bond movie is dependant on its villain, and she certainly has the talent and ability to pull off a memorable baddie. Notably, this isn't the first time Chastain's expressed an interest in this either - she's been campaigning for the opportunity since 2013!
The brilliant actress has also come close to taking a role in a CBM in the past, having passed on playing Maya Hansen in Iron Man 3 due to scheduling issues. If the opportunity came for her to be in either, which franchise would you like to see her join? And as which character? As always, be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments below!
Crimson Peak hits theatres October 16 - and you can catch Bond just a few weeks later facing off against Christoph Waltz in Spectre on November 6.
