Jessica Chastain's PAINKILLER JANE Movie Taps ONCE UPON A TIME's Christine Boylan To Adapt The Script
Christine Boylan will write the script for the big-screen adaptation of Jimmy Palmiotti & Joe Quesada's Painkiller Jane, which has Jessica Chastain attached to star as the super-powered police officer...
Late last year we found out that Jessica Chastain (Interstellar, The Huntsman: Winter's War) had signed on to play Jane Vasko in a feature adaptation of Jimmy Palmiotti and Joe Quesada's Painkiller Jane, and now Deadline reports that Lotus Entertainment has set Christine Boylan (Castle, One Upon a Time) to adapt the material for the screen.
For those that may not be familiar with this character, Jane is a near-invulnerable crime-fighter who debuted for Event Comics back in 1995, but has since been utilized by several other imprints and has even crossed over with the likes of The Punisher, Vampirella, and Hellboy. She was also the focus of a short-lived Sci-Fi Channel TV series back in 2007.
Chastain will produce along with Solipsist Films' Stephen L’Heureux and Lotus' Kelly Carmichael. There was a rumor going around that American Mary directors Jen and Sylvia Soska were on board to helm Painkiller Jane, but there's no mention of that in this latest report.
