J.J. Abrams And Alfonso Cuarón Working On Yet Another Superpower Themed TV Series

Following the news earlier this week that Howard Gordon And Max Landis are working on Vigilant, yet another TV series is being planned which fits loosely into the superhero genre about a girl with powers and the man who protects her from those hunting her down! Read on for details.

Deadline reports that Academy Award nominated director Alfonso Cuarón (Harry Potter and the Prisoner Of Azkaban, Children of Men) is teaming up with J.J. Abrams (Lost, Star Trek) for a "high-concept" drama at NBC. The pilot has already been given the green light, and Cuarón will both direct and co-write it (with Home Of the Brave's Mark Friedman). The currently untitled project doesn't sound like your usual superpowers story, but it certainly looks as if it will fit within the genre (similar to Vigilant, which you can find out more about by clicking HERE). The site describe it as being, "about a girl in possession of a great gift/powers — which will come into their own in seven years — and the man who is sprung from prison to protect her from those trying to hunt her down." With Abrams involved, it seems like a fair bet that the series will be steeped in mythology! What do you guys think? Sound off with your thoughts in the usual place.
