Deadline is reporting that English actor Scott Adkins (X-Men Origins: WolverineDoctor StrangeThe Bourne Ultimatum) has joined the kickass cast of John Wick: Chapter 4, which just commenced principal photography earlier this week.

Further details on his role are currently unavailable, but it seems likely we'll soon see him go mano a mano with Keanu Reeves' titular boogeyman.

He joins a stellar ensemble headlined by Reeves (The MatrixSpeed) with an all-new supporting cast consisting of Donnie Yen (Rogue One: A Star Wars StoryxXx: The Return of Xander Cage), newcomer Rina Sawayama, Shamier Anderson (Wynonna EarpGoliath), Bill Skarsgård (ItDeadpool 2), and Hiroyuki Sanada (The Last SamuraiThe Wolverine).

While Lionsgate hasn't issued a formal cast announcement just yet, Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, Laurence Fishburne, Tobias Segal, Saïd Taghmaoui, Asia Kate Dillon, Robin Lord Taylor, and Jason Mantzoukas are all expected to reprise their roles from John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum.

Chad Stahelski is back in the director's chair, this time utilizing a screenplay from Shay Hatten and Michael Finch. Stahelski co-directed the first installment with David Leitch, but was the sole director on both Chapter 2 and Chapter 3

Plot details remain locked away in the deepest corners of The Continental, but filming will take place on location this summer in France, Germany, and Japan.

John Wick: Chapter 4 is currently scheduled to hit theaters on May 27, 2022.

Adkins is at his best when he's not asked to do much more beyond fight sequences. He was good as Boyka and is fine to headline B movies, but I don't anticipate too much heavy lifting here.

@Se4M4NSt4ine - Nah, just an honest assessment of his on screen abilities. Absolute sheer disrespect would be saying he needs to find another line of work because he brings nothing to the industry. He has a valid place in it though.

@Se4M4NSt4ine - I agree… he can’t act for a damn. But he’s an absolute pleasure to watch as a stunt guy or action roles.

Like the guy, and he kicks ass, but a few of his foreign movies (that he himself coordinates stunts on) have been known to steal fight scenes from other films.

Met this guy in Bristol at a seminar once, genuine guy with a great sense of humour. The industry by no means owes him any sort of prestigious career, but the guys a cult hero in the martial arts movie world.

I loved him in The Tournament and his fight scene with Kelly Hu.

OT: I feel like the Clifford the Big Red Dog trailer needs a discussion, because he straight up murders a dude in a bubble in it and I'm not sure how to really process that.

@Reeds2Much - Is it wrong that I'm bothered by the Wilhelm scream? Seriously, this stopped being "funny" like 30+ years ago. Also, a scene of dog cannibalism. I feel bad for today's kids.

Off topic: Anyone seen this yet? The story is blah and this guy draws Steve and Sam like they're in Roblox. 😝

Awesome martial artist, but as stiff as a board as an actor like Lewis Tan.

He's gotten his head chopped off at least twice in movies.

I have enjoyed him in many B movies but his role in Avengement was his best role in my humble opinion. He was also entertaining in The Legend Of Hercules even though that movie was abysmal

Speaking of great stunt actors, this is slightly OT, but I wish Tony Jaa was still in prime so he could be in more
mainstream action flicks. His fight scenes/stunts in the original Ong Bak & Tom Yum Goong to this day are unmatched in any medium.

He hasn't been the same since 2008's Ong Bak 2. The level of quality of his choreography declined sharply after that film.

Seems like a perfect fit for these movies. Like how they're drawing in all these names from this side of the industry.
