While the surprise was somewhat spoiled yesterday, Keanu Reeves made a surprise return to the Hall H stage tonight to link up with director Chad Stahelski and launch the first official teaser trailer for John Wick: Chapter 4. which looks absolutely insane in the best way possible.
Reeves appeared earlier today to officially announce the development of a live-action BRZRKR movie as well as an anime series, both for Netflix. No John Wick panel was scheduled, but the rumor mill had been buzzing all afternoon, strongly suggesting he would be making a repeat appearance to debut the teaser.
Plot details remain locked away in the deepest corners of The Continental, but based on this quick sneak peek, Reeves' Wick has healed up nicely following his big fall in John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum and is now ready to seek out his revenge against the High Table and everyone that stands in his way, including franchise newcomers Donnie Yen (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story; xXx: The Return of Xander Cage), Bill Skarsgård (It; Deadpool 2), and Hiroyuki Sanada (The Last Samurai; The Wolverine), amongst others.
Check out the official trailer below:
Reeves will be joined by an all-new supporting cast consisting of Donnie Yen (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story; xXx: The Return of Xander Cage), newcomer Rina Sawayama as Akira, Shamier Anderson (Wynonna Earp; Goliath), Bill Skarsgård (It; Deadpool 2), Hiroyuki Sanada (The Last Samurai; The Wolverine), Scott Adkins (X-Men Origins: Wolverine; Doctor Strange), Marko Zaror (Alita: Battle Angel; Sultan), and Clancy Brown (Thor: Ragnarok; Daredevil).
Additionally, Laurence Fishburne (The Bowery King), Ian McShane (Winston), and Lance Reddick (Charon) will all reprise their roles for the next installment.
Chad Stahelski is back in the director's chair, this time utilizing a screenplay from Shay Hatten and Michael Finch. Stahelski co-directed the first installment with David Leitch, but was the sole director on both Chapter 2 and Chapter 3.
John Wick: Chapter 4 is scheduled to hit theaters on March 24, 2023.
