Very exciting news for fans of Sucker Punch's Ghost of Tsushima video game here, as Deadline reports that Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions are developing a feature adaptation with John Wick director Chad Stahelski attached to helm.

The PlayStation 4 open world action adventure game, which was the console's fastest selling first-party original IP and has shifted over 6.5 million copies since it hit shelves in July of 2020, focuses on "samurai warrior Jin Sakai, the last surviving member of his clan, who must set aside the traditions that have shaped him as a warrior to wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Tsushima."

“We’re excited to be partnering with Chad and 87Eleven Entertainment, to bring their vision of Jin’s story to the big screen. We love working with creative partners like Chad, who have a passion for our games, ensuring we can create rich adaptations that will excite our fans and new audiences.” said Asad Qizilbash, Head of PlayStation Productions.

Stahelski is also set to produce along with Alex Young and Jason Spitz through their company 87Eleven Entertainment. Representatives for PlayStation Productions and Sucker Punch Productions will serve as Executive Producers.

We have no idea when production is expected to commence, but Stahelski is set to begin working on John Wick 4 fairly soon, so it'll probably be a while before he turns is attention to Ghost of Tsushima.

@MyCoolYoung - it's a very beautiful game. Story is a little straightforward but the art design and gameplay make up for it. Combat design is incredible.

@MyCoolYoung - Its funny that people have to bash TLOU2 to praise this game. (clearly no agenda there lol) The game is good, not a masterpiece or anything. It doesn't stand out or have any particular aspect it does better than any other game, but everything it does do it does well. I'd actually compare it to Jedi Fallen Order in that regard, minus that game's technical issues of course.

Personally it's as 8/10 as an 8/10 game can be, if that makes any sense.
