While John Wick: Chapter 4 is still several months away, it looks like we already have a beat on when we should expect to see Baba Yaga next, as Collider is reporting that franchise star Keanu Reeves is set to reprise his role as the iconic assassin in Ballerina, which will feature Golden Globe-nominee Ana de Armas (Knives Out; No Time to Die) in the lead role.
Variety has since confirmed the report, while The Hollywood Reporter has added that Ian McShane will also return for the spin-off as Winston, the manager of the Continental.
While Lionsgate opted not to comment on Reeves' involvement, he and McShane have both already reported to the Prague set, where filming began earlier this week. McShane was announced by the studio, so we can probably expect him to play a comparable role to his part in the John Wick films. As for Reeves, it seems probable he'll only make a brief cameo appearance, although we'd love to be wrong because it'd be quite a treat to see him partner with de Armas.
Len Wiseman (Underworld; Lucifer) is directing, from a screenplay by Shay Hatten (John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum; Army of the Dead).
John Wick: Chapter 4 hits theaters on March 23, 2023; Ballerina is expected to arrive TBD 2023/2024.
