Mad Max: Video, Pictures & A Poll For The New Mad Max Concept Cars
Ford & Top Gear Australia have teamed up to develop two concept cars for the new movie, “Mad Max: Fury Road.” Vote for your favorite!
Fed up with waiting for George "Happy Feet" Miller to stop dicking about with cartoons and get back to the serious business of continuing the Mad Max saga, we decided to take matters into our own hands.
Enlisting the help of Ford's ridiculously talented design team, we asked for two new Interceptors, one of which, we reckon, should be used in the fourth installment of the film franchise. What we got back exceeded our wildest expectations. And scared us just a little bit.
The Brookliner (Simon Brook)
This is the Brookliner. Designed by Ford's Simon brook, the Interceptor concept is a true homage to the car of old. There's no futuristic weaponry, like crazy laser beams or invisibility cloaks. Instead it features hub-less wheels with centres that pop out at high speeds, tearing enemy wheels to pieces.
Oh, and its engine is a nuclear powerplant. Seriously.
The Nimachine (Nima Nourian)
And this not-so-shiny beast is the Nimachine, designed by Nima Nourian.
It’s fair to say he wanted his car’s weapons to be a little more cutting edge. Like the gigantic, industrial strength taser hanging off the front grille. Ready to fry enemies – and maybe a couple of parking inspectors – at will.
