Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller has now confirmed that Charlize Theron will not be reprising the role of Furiosa for his planned prequel, but the Academy Award-winning actress is still clearly very fond of the character and the movie - despite its notoriously difficult production.

Theron took to Twitter to mark the fifth anniversary of Fury Road's release by sharing some new behind-the-scenes shots and videos from the set. She also acknowledges the film's "grueling, intense" shoot, but believes the finished product was more than worth the effort.

It's a shame Theron won't be back for the Furiosa prequel, but if Miller ever does get to do a direct sequel to his action masterpiece, there's always a chance we'll see her back in the war rig for another historic ride on the Fury Road.

How do you guys feel about another actress taking over this role? Drop us a comment in the usual place, and if by some miracle you haven't seen Mad Max: Fury Road, you can check out the trailer below.
