Coming Soon has revealed that the next Mission: Impossible film, Ghost Protocol, will hit theaters in Australia December 14th, a full week before the Brad Bird-directed flick arrives in general US theaters. The film will then be released throughout the world on the 15th, and will make its debut onto US IMAX theaters a day afterwards. Below is what Coming Soon has to say...



Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, the fourth installment of the action franchise, will debut in Australian cinemas on the night of Wednesday, December 14, giving Australian fans the opportunity to be the first in the world to see the film.

"Ghost Protocol" will play these special sessions in IMAX cinemas, VMAX at Event Cinemas, VMAX at Village Cinemas, Titan Screens at Reading Cinemas and Xtremescreen and IMAX at Hoyts locations around the country ahead of the broad national release on Thursday, December 15. These cinemas have been chosen to showcase this first look at the spectacular action sequences, daredevil stunts and stunning cinematography of the latest film in the "Mission: Impossible" series.

In France and Belgium the movie will be released December 14th too, so Australia is not the only one to got it first.

I don't think the prologue will be shown in Aussie Theatres. I live in Australia and I remember going going to see 'I Am Legend' and 'The Dark Knight' Prologue wasn't shown.

@soberchimera61 If it's any old IMAX screen, probably not. If it's 70MM, the prologue will more than likely be there.
