Though Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation breakout Rebecca Ferguson is expected to return for the still untitled sixth installment in the action movie franchise, the Christopher McQuarrie-helmed picture will also feature a new female lead.
According to Variety, Vanessa Kirby will play a mysterious new character who is "expected to be on the same level as Ferguson’s in the last pic." No other details were provided.
Kirby garnered acclaim for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth’s sister, Princess Margaret, in Netflix's The Crown, but she has also appeared in the likes of The Frankenstein Chronicles and Jupiter Ascending.
Tom Cruise will reprise the role of Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible 6, with Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner also on board.
