Disney+ (via ActionNewz.com) has shared a new look at its upcoming National Treasure spin-off series, now officially titled National Treasure: Edge of History, via a promo poster spotlighting the main cast members. The streamer has also announced that the show is set to premiere on December 14.

Edge of History will star Lisette Alexis as lead protagonist Jess Morales, with Catherine Zeta-Jones (Entrapment, High Fidelity) as her mentor Billie.

The latter is described as "a badass billionaire, black-market antiquities expert, and treasure hunter who lives by her own code." "She transformed herself from a penniless orphan to a shrewd, stylish businesswoman and adventurer," the breakdown continues. "Billie's used to getting what she wants — and she wants the Pan-American treasure. But not just for the money. This treasure has deeper stakes for her."

Jess, meanwhile, is "a 20-year-old Dreamer who sets off on an adventure to recover lost Pan-American treasure, unearthing shocking secrets about her family’s past in the process."

Check out the new poster at the link below.

The show will also feature Zuri Reed (Flatbush Misdemeanors) as Tasha, Jordan Rodrigues (Lady Bird) as Ethan, Antonio Cipriano (Broadway's Jagged Little Pill) as Oren, and Jake Austin Walker (Rectify) as Liam.

The National Treasure series is (loosely) based on the big-screen adventures starring Nicolas Cage, but his character Benjamin Franklin Gates is not expected to appear. We do know that Harvey Keitel will reprise his role as Peter Sadusky, with Justin Bartha set to return as Riley Poole for a cameo.

Mira Nair is directing, with Jerry Bruckheimer producing alongside Cormac and Marianne Wibberley, Jonathan Littman, KristieAnne Reed, Rick Muirragui, Jon Turteltaub.
