After last month's set leak of a brawl between Zachary Quinto's Spock and Benedict Cumberbatch's Gary Mitch..er..as-yet-unnamed-villain, Paramount heavily increased their security and locked down the set. Well of course that's not going to stop determined trekkies from taking pics. Here's a few snapshots of Sulu, Uhura and a mystery Vulcan on the way to set. That could be Quinto's stunt-double but if not, that's an interesting development if you are familiar with the first films dire ramifications for the Vulcan species.
The next Star Trek film will be a sequel to 2009's Star Trek, directed by J. J. Abrams. The sci-fi action film is currently untitled, and began filming in January 2012, with a scheduled release date of May 17, 2013.
J. J. Abrams has stated that unlike the original series' Trek films, this film will have a subtitle with no number following the series title Star Trek, like The Next Generation's film series. This will avoid repeating the sequel number of the acclaimed Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan or making a confusing jump from Star Trek to Star Trek 12.
