The Hollywood Reporter reveals that producer Howard Gordon (24) is teaming up with Chronicle screenwriter Max Landis for a new television series at Fox called Vigilant. According to the site, it will be, "a 'superhero' origin story told through the unlikely point of view of a smart 20-year-old woman who happens to be a social outcast. After an honorable veteran detective is brutally coerced into working for the corrupt head of Internal Affairs, the detective's daughter plans her revenge by creating a fictional vigilante persona to take on the criminal elements within the police department and the city." As well as penning the script, Landis actually conceived the idea and it certainly won't hurt its chances of success by having Homeland's Howard Gordon serving as executive producer.

Sounds like a POS idea. I loved Chronicle and I love the idea of a Superhero TV drama, but this premise sounds like shit. Go back to the drawing board.

At least it won't be as bad as Arrow.

In that, it will only be a crap show. As opposed to a crap show that is also disrespectful to an existing superhero.

Damn, are we so cynical that the basic outline of a premise of a potential show gets us all riled up?

@KNIGHT3000

The director and actors were what made Chronicle great, not his writing. Max is a product of the Planet Los Angeles bubble & does come off like a privileged douche. So apparently the only thing his father ever put into this world worth mentioning is still An American Werewolf in London. ;P
