POLL: What Did You Think Of WORLD WAR Z?

POLL: What Did You Think Of WORLD WAR Z?

Brad Pitt's globe-trotting "thriller" has performed much better at the box office than predicted after terrible word of mouth, and with a lot of critics being very kind to the movie it doesn't show signs of slowing down just yet. What did you guys think?

Judging by the various reviews and news articles posted on CBM (you can read my review HERE and Josh's HERE), it would seem you guys are as split on World War Z as we were! Many seem to feel it was a tense, smart, original take on the genre, while just as many feel it...wasn't. As mentioned, World War Z has performed surprisingly well at the BO and yesterday Paramount greenlit a sequel, so clearly the movie is doing something right -- but will you be interested in another installment after the ending of the first one? Where you invested in Gerry Lane's story? Can a swarming mass of badly CG'd skinny people really be considered zombies? Vote below and then sound off in the usual place.

Very poorly edited film. I can't stress that enough. There isn't a "character" on the screen who has any time to be developed, let alone characterized. The story just moves too fast.

mediocre.
nonsensical decision making.
indestructible Carmen Sandiego Pitt
running zombies not ground breaking as some have said- obviously ignoring Dawn of the Dead remake.
worst reasoning to advance a storyline- 2nd half of film...all of the second half.

Trailer sucked, but movie was better.
First 30 min was kinda like surviving movie, dark and awesome.
Later it felt like another action movie.

There cant have sequel, when it had that KIND ENDING...

Begining was pretty good, but the editing was a little choppy. The last 1/3 of the movie was not well done, and too much of a momentum shift for me. The ending seemed tacked on and a little too convenient.

Shoulda been made as a TV series lust like Game of thrones is and Watchmen should have been but it would be a sight better than the Walking Dead pos.

Blitzef the budget is between 250 mil and 400 mil. Thats what yhe "bad press" was also about. Hence why people predicted this is this years john carter. Opening box office numbers are not too different either.

Good; could've been "very good" with a different third act, though. Oh, well...

Having read the book, I went in ready to criticize it but I thought the movie was pretty good despite having very little of the book in there. Now that a sequel has been announced, I hope they will show more of the original material and try and tie some of the best stories together. Let it focus more the war and clean up process...and bring on Yonkers!

The movie was fun. I'll give it that, but it was WWZ practically in name only. So many interesting things in the book that weren't mentioned, like the disappearance of the North Koreans to name one. Also, if you read the book and liked it, you might like "Robopacolypse".

-just my two cents-

I loved it. I thought it was excellent. Very tense and scary for a PG 13 film and very smart and engaging.
I'm glad there doing a sequel.

Maybe the second film will be a different perspective like in the book.
