PROMETHEUS Actor Sean Harris Offered MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 5 Villain Role

It seems Paramount and director Christopher McQuarrie are looking to cast a (relative) unknown as the baddie in the fifth Mission Impossible flick, as Brit actor Sean Harris (Prometheus, 24 Hour Party People) has been offered the role.

After playing silly buggers with an alien cobra and getting himself all possessed in Ridley Scott's Prometheus, Deadline report that Sean Harris is the man Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions want to cause problems for Tom Cruise and co. in Mission Impossible 5. The site report that the unnamed villain role has been offered to Harris and negotiations are under way, but nothing is certain just yet. Christopher McQuarrie will return to helm the movie after Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol made all of the money, and along with Cruse, Jeremy Renner and Simon Pegg are back on board too.

Interesting choice; I enjoyed his primary scene in Prometheus:

There's been a lot of tidbits coming out about James Bond 24 over the last week but it's getting no coverage on here. Then we get an article on Mission Impossible.

There were three Pasto accounts last I saw. There should be more. I want 40 of them. A Plague of Pasto Upon Our Houses!

I've never seen a Mission Impossible movie. Other movie franchises I've never seen a single film from:
Star Trek
Fast and Furious
Riddick
TMNT
Harry Potter
Twilight
Hunger Games
And I've only seen the first half of the first Transformers movie

He's a brilliant actor who deserves his break! Check out the TV series Southcliffe, and Deliver us from evil for proof.

It's a shame they aren't bringing Paula Patton back. She was badass in M:I4.

They started filming without a villain even cast? That seems wildly irresponsible.

Besides Riddick and Star Trek, I'd say I envy you good sir! Those other movies are complete dog shit, and you are a better man than me for avoiding them.

I'm sure there are other franchises I've never bothered with. I've never seen anything Babylon 5, Stargate, Mortal Kombat and Dragon Ball related.

Meh… MI5? How many Impossible Missions can Tom Cruise live through. It seems like his most impossible mission is getting out of the closet.
