See CAPTAIN MARVEL's Brie Larson In A Very Different Kind Of Role In This First Red Band FREE FIRE Trailer

The first trailer and poster for Ben Wheatley's new action comedy, Free Fire, have been released. See Brie Larson, Sharlto Copley, Cillian Murphy and more shoot the shit out of each other after the jump...

Before Brie Larson suits up as Captain Marvel, she'll play a far more ruthless character in British director Ben Wheatley's Free Fire, with the likes of Cillian Murphy (Batman Begins), Sharlto Copley (District 9), Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger), and Jack Reynor (Transformers) along for the ride.

Wheatley's (High Rise, A Field in England, Kill List) films are certainly an acquired taste, but they are always interesting at the very least. His latest star-studded effort is a '70s-set shoot 'em up with a comedic tinge, and knowing Wheatley you can probably expect quite a few twisted surprises.

Check out the first red band trailer below, and let us know what you think.

Free Fire premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, and will serve as the closer of the 2016 BFI London Film Festival on 16 October 2016. The film is then scheduled to be released in the United Kingdom on 31 March, 2017 by StudioCanal UK.

Wheatley makes some really interesting films.

Kill List was great. Not enough people know about it. Watch it! It's an amazing thriller.

I really enjoyed High Rise. Caught it on Netflix recently.

@ComicsBornAndBred - nice guys is my next movie to watch, i got it on twc (damn you warner, i have no choice but to pay you for cable damn you) pay per view, but i have not rented it yet.

surprisingly, i haven't watched a movie in weeks. i was watching 2 or 3 a day, but now im in a video game mood lol. i will probably wacth the nice guys this week.

but yeah, im loving throwback films. you can have only so many big action movies and sci fi thrillers, some times it's nice to just wind things down and get a 70's character piece.

Is there legitimate hype for this movie or are people going to see this to get more intel on the actress playing Captain Marvel in the near future?

@incredibleTalk - I haven't heard of it until now. Wheatley's films rarely get a lot of attention. High Rise is his most known film and that was considered an indie film.

Hopefully, this gets some major hype. Looks good

@incredibleTalk - A new Ben Wheatley movie is a big deal in certain circles.. and he's becoming more mainstream, so yeah, I'd say there's some hype.

@RorMachine - ...nbne the less....the moment she plays Captain Marvel.....she will become a household name!!!!

...playing a superhero is not just acting...you have to make the character BELIEVABLE!!!
