Due to the busy schedules of those involved with Sherlock (particularly stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, who portray Sherlock Holmes and John Watson, respectively), it's always a long wait between seasons. This year, we'll be treated to a special one-off episode set in Victorian-era London, seperate to the previous seasons, serving as a throwback to the time period whence Sherlock Holmes creator Arthur Conan Doyle penned the original novels. This brand new image of Cumberbatch and Freeman was released ahead of Sherlock's 2015 San Diego Comic-Con panel, with the duo looking spick and span in 19th century attire. Are you excited about this more classical take on the acclaimed BBC series?

This akin to breaking the fourth wall, set the series in a different time period and it ceases to have a narrative glue that holds it together as one ongoing story.

That being said, this sounds freakin' awesome.

The first two Basil Rathbone movies were set in Victorian era while all the others in 1940s. So it has been done before.
