Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to star in an untitled spy series for Netflix. The show will mark the first major scripted television project for the action veteran, who we last saw reprising his most iconic role as the T-800 in Terminator: Dark Fate.
Skydance TV’s hourlong series comes from Scorpion creator Nick Santora, and is described as "a global spy adventure with a father and daughter at the center of the story."
Chicago P.D. actress Monica Barbaro has signed on to play the daughter of Schwarzenegger's character. She has also booked roles in the upcoming Top Gun: Maverick and Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead.
Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Bill Bost will executive producing the show along with Schwarzenegger.
It sounds like a few details are still being ironed out, but the plan is for the show to head into development with a script-to-series commitment, meaning Netflix would skip the pilot stage and jump straight into making the first season if they're happy with the script.
A lot of fans hoped Arnie's first foray into television would be that Legend of Conan series we've been hearing about, but we haven't had any updates on that in quite a while. There is a separate Conan show in the works for Netflix, but as far as we know, Schwarzenegger is not involved.
