I'm sure the faculty in the Admissions Office of the University of Chicago were stumped to discover a package addressed to Henry Walton Jones Jr. (AKA Indiana Jones)
The faculty member recalls receiving the mail like so:
Yesterday we received a package addressed to “Henry Walton Jones, Jr.”. We sort-of shrugged it off and put it in our bin of mail for student workers to sort and deliver to the right faculty member— we get the wrong mail a lot.
Little did we know what we were looking at. When our student mail worker snapped out of his finals-tired haze and realized who Dr. Jones was, we were sort of in luck: this package wasn’t meant for a random professor in the Stat department. It is addressed to “Indiana” Jones.
The faculty member also describes the content of the package which included:
- Abner Ravenwoods Journal from
Raiders of the Lost Ark
- Postcards and photos of Marion Ravenwood
- Replica money
The faculty makes note that this isn't a joke; and they're curious (as we all are) as to whether this is an applicant, a gift, some materials for a professor/teacher,or an elaborate prank.
So what do you guys think? Prank? Elaborate Application? PR Stunt? If you know anything about this awesome act, you're encouraged to email the investigative committee at
