The graphic novel by Boom! Studios,
2 Guns, by Steven Grant is on its way to the big screen. Now, according to Deadline, may be getting Hollywood "it" man Mark Wahlberg to star. Wahlberg is currently in final negotiations for a a costarring role in the film.
The film will be produced by Boom! Studio's own Andrew Cosby and Ross Richie. Wahlberg's friend and director David O. Russel is said to be looking to script the movie as well as possibly direct, with Vince Vaughn costarring.
UPDATE: Heat Vision are reporting that as Wahlberg joins the cast, Director David O. Russel and costar Vince Vaughn has reportedly dropped out of the movie. As Wahlberg is known to be doing many David O. Russel flicks, I find it very unlikely that Wahlberg will stay attached to this project too...
For anyone not familiar with
2 Guns, here is a synopsis:
"In the vein of Ocean's Eleven and The Italian Job, Two Guns is a pulp story about cops and thieves and the men that are something in between. Trench has targeted a local bank to rob, and asked Steadman in on the job. Trench figures it's a great way to score – considering it's a cover for mob money. They'll be thieves ripping off thieves. But what Steadman doesn't know is that Trench is a DEA agent. And what Trench doesn't know is that Steadman's got his own secret and isn't who he appears to be..."
