Yes, it's a teaser for the teaser. About a nanosecond of Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen in fight or flight mode..

Like voiceover man says in the vid, this glimpse is part of (we hope) a lot more footage with will air this Sunday at the MTV Video Music Awards. And the lovely Miss Lawrence (Mystique in X-Men: First Class) will be on hand to walk us through it.

Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. Part twisted entertainment, part government intimidation tactic, the Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains.

Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

Loved the first book, and I think Lawrence is a great actress but I have this feeling that the studio is going to take the shitty twilight route and play up the romance to the extreme, which may rest of the books kinda crappy in my opinion. anyways hope I'm wrong

Can't wait to finally see some footage of this, and it sucks they toned the film down a PG-13 rating, when the book was definitely R rated material.

So did Battle Royale rip off Stephen King's The Long Walk? or did Stephen King rip off someone prior to that? not sure if you know this but there are plenty of stories out there that aren't based on Japanese based manga.

So hope this doesn't go down the Twilight path because the story line is good and is relevant to today's society and teens. Of course there is romance but they need to show the internal struggle of emotions of the lead character.

While the book had some graphic scenes I wouldn't say that they couldn't be filmed any different than Harry Potter's final film and be just as gruesome, truthfully they show stuff on TV that is pretty intense but not gory. If you want gory go see Saw or Final Destination.

Oh and this is mostly being shown on MTV because Lionsgate is owned by the parent company of both and Jennifer Lawrence is going to be on the show as well as the fact that the target audience is teens and young adults who watch MTV not just those of us who can actually read books.
