GOTG & DUNE Star Dave Bautista Signs On For M. Night Shyamalan's Mysterious KNOCK AT THE CABIN GOTG & DUNE Star Dave Bautista Signs On For M. Night Shyamalan's Mysterious KNOCK AT THE CABIN

It was recently announced that divisive Glass director M. Night Shyamalan's next project will be a mysterious thriller titled Knock at The Cabin, and Dave Bautista has now signed on to star.

M. Night Shyamalan might be one of the most divisive directors working today, but even his less well-received movies tend to do very well at the box office, and his most recent film, Old, ended up taking in over $90 million worldwide (not a bad haul when budget and Pandemic Era BO factor in).

We recently learned that Shyamalan's next project will be titled Knock at the Cabin, and Deadline reports that Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy, Dune) has signed on to star.

Details on his role - and the plot of the movie itself - are few and far between. In fact, all we really know is that Knock at the Cabin will be a thriller. The title would seem to hint at some horror elements, but that remains to be seen.

Shyamalan is set to write and direct, and will also produce with Ashwin Rajan under the filmmaker’s Blinding Edge Pictures banner alongside Marc Bienstock and Steven Schneider.

Bautista has had a very busy few years, and shows no signs of slowing down with roles booked in the likes of GOTG Vol. 3, Knives Out 2, and Dune: Part 2.

Knock at the Cabin is set to hit theaters on February 3, 2023. You can check out a (very) vague teaser below.

I enjoy Shyamalan's movies. I only haven't seen The Last Airbender and After Earth, and had no desire to, but I've enjoyed all his other movies, for better or worse on their quality.

@MosquitoFarmer - after earth is not that bad, through kid’s eyes it’s great. I know because my kids tolerate air bender but hate how crammed and inaccurate it is.

They also didnt care about the Will and Jaden pop culture hate stuff or the whitewashing. Oh to have kids eyes again. Lemme think. What movie did I like and now can’t stand cuz it’s stupid? I gotta think about that one some more

The twist will be: the cabin was actually a house the entire time, and it wasn't a knock, it was .. wait for it .. a doorbell

GASP!

@bkmeijer - I'm kinda loving this point he's at in his career where he's basically just said "[frick] it" and just pumps out the weirdest little movies he can possibly come up with.

I'm sure he'll be able to show more of his dramatic side.

Old made me laugh, somehow he can make a crazy story seem coherent

1. The Sixth Sense - An untouchable classic that still holds up.
2. Unbreakable - One of the better original superhero movies.
3. Split - A truly unsettling return to form.
4. Signs - Good atmosphere, nonsensical twist.
5. The Visit - Genuinely creepy after several misfires.
6. Old - Awkward in an entertaining way.
7. Glass - Cool crossover squandered on a dull story.
8. The Village - Mostly boring, but the concept is interesting.
9. The Happening - Hilariously bad with a ridiculous twist.
10. Lady in the Water - Originality gone wrong.
11. After Earth - Jaden Smith doesn’t have half the star power of Will Smith.
12. The Last Airbender - Awful adaptation of an awesome show and the worst movie I’ve ever seen.

@MasterMix - Split over Signs? just no.

@MasterMix - The Happening uses the idiocy deliberately. It's a comedy of errors b-movie, absurdist cinema homage. No way you choose two of Hollywood's weirdest line deliverers (Wahlberg and Deschanel) without the intentional of weird delivery. One of his best and most misunderstood films!!! Also second MaxPaint - Signs and The Village beat Split

@MasterMix - kind of curious about why you feel the twist(s) in Signs were nonsensical. I thought it fairly clearly was a message to Gibson that certain things are meant to happen and to accept his wife's passing. Interested in hearing your take on it.

@Itwasme - Everything having to do with his wife, family, and faith worked for me. I was mainly referring to water being the twist.

@MasterMix - haha... ok I can see that. It's really heavy handed, to say the least. Everyone in the family had to have something to do I suppose, but I'm also like... why is no one cleaning that up? Are they just buying new glasses every time? What happened to the dishwasher?

Yuck. I wouldn’t do a Night movie if I were asked. I don’t know how these stars keep signing on to his projects.
