FROZEN 2 Trailer Seemingly Teases A Much Darker Adventure For Elsa And Company

FROZEN 2 Trailer Seemingly Teases A Much Darker Adventure For Elsa And Company

Frozen was an unexpected phenomenon and it spawned a huge amount of merchandise and spinoffs. However, this first look at the sequel is probably quite a bit different from what you may have been expecting.

Well, this is definitely a different sort of teaser trailer from Disney Animation! While the first Frozen movie (and its many animated spinoffs) was fairly light and breezy for the most part, Frozen 2 definitely seems to be heading down a slightly darker, more grown-up route, which could be the studio's attempt to entice the kids who fell in love with these characters back in 2013.

Either way, this is an unexpected and bold way to present our first look at the sequel and there are at least some hints about what to expect as Else attempts to use her powers to cross the ocean.

Why she's trying to expand her abilities like this remains to be seen, but it seems like a pretty significant threat could be on the horizon, and it's going to be interesting to find out what director Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee bring to the table for this follow-up.

Frozen made over $1.2 billion when it hit
theaters six years ago and the original cast members will be returning for an adventure which reportedly takes the likes of Olaf and Anne outside of Arendelle on a grand scale. What do you guys think about this first look?

When it comes to describing modern movies, the word "dark" needs to be retired for good. It's used so often (and usually incorrectly imo) it no longer has any meaning.

I actually enjoyed the first one quite a bit. A great throwback to Rennaisance era Disney. I wish they were doing another original musical rather than a sequel, but this teaser is very different from what I was expecting to be a cheap cashgrab.

Wait, the first one was light and breezey? I guess I get what you're trying to say but a lot of messed up stuff happened in that one including a heel turn that wasn't completely choreographed to the audience in advance and was completely cruel and out-of-nowhere to one of the protagonists. Hans is one of the more underhanded villains in Disney animation.

Animation may someday replace real life action from the way this looks and eliminate stunt doubles and actors/actresses from getting hurt....

..Disney is still the king of animation!!!!

...CGI is definitely the future and any studio that can use it to make Antman and Aquaman movie hits(C listed characters) has done something extraordinary!!!

@Soos - signs of the times. People want trailers to spoil more, in my day we got pissed when trailers showed too much.

@MalseMarcel @Soos - I think the stormy island thing's got to have something to do with Elsa and Anna's parents. You guys know that Tarzan theory right? It'll be like the Alicia Vikander-Tomb Raider film.

@Nebula - Yeah. Would be mad if they're actually going with it

@MalseMarcel - I mean, they'll probably drop the Tarzan part. They might find their parents on the island though.
