THE ADDAMS FAMILY Animated Movie Gets a Director in Sausage Party's Conrad Vernon

They're creepy, kooky, mysterious, spooky, and they'll soon be reanimated. Here's the latest on the newest visit to Cemetary Lane!

Among the most ridiculous movies to be released in the last few years was Sausage Party, an animated feature that was definitely not for children starring the voices of Seth Rogan, Kristen Wiig, and Edward Norton. Now, the co-director of the raunchy food flick will be bringing THE ADDAMS FAMILY back to the screen with all new animated film from MGM.

Although the family is most known for their 1960s television series and 1990s film franchise (starring such talents as Raul Julia, Anjelica Huston, Christina Ricci and Christopher Lloyd), THE ADDAMS FAMILY first spooked American audiences in its 50-year run as a comic strip in The New Yorker. This new franchise will once again bring their unique brand of humor to a new generation of fans.

Vernon is no stranger to animation, having co-directed Shrek 2Monsters vs. Aliens (also with Sausage Party star Seth Rogen), and Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted. He is joined by screenwriter Pamela Pettler, whose credits include Corpse BrideMonster House, and 9; clearly, she has experience in writing creepy animated flicks.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY has no release date yet.

What do you think? Are you excited for a new ADDAMS FAMILY, or do you think it's going to be a dud? Let us know below.

I'm a big fan of going the cartoon route for some properties and this is a much better idea than a live action film!

I loved the Addams Family show and movies. Would love to see a new live action Munsters too. Sausage Party was one of the worst movies I have ever seen though.

This could've been perfect project for Tim Burton.

I feel like this would work better as a Netflix show. Ala A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Great news!

I grew up watching the '90's movies. Both among my favorite comedies of all time. I hope this turns out to be as good as the old movies.

Absolutely loved the first movie. Second movie was also pretty good but more of a fan of the first one. I can literally watch it every time it comes on TV. Can watch it over and over and one of those movies I don’t get sick of watching. When was kid and these came out I fell in love with Wednesday Adams aka Christina Ricci. Still love her. Think she is so pretty . Big celeb crush on her lol
