"Star Wars Rebels’ continues the epic tradition of the legendary ‘Star Wars’ saga with all-new exciting, action-packed adventures. It is a dark time in the galaxy, as the evil Galactic Empire tightens its grip of power from world to world. As the series begins, Imperial forces have occupied a remote planet, ruling with an iron fist and ruining the lives of its people.

But there are a select few who are brave enough to stand up against the endless Stormtroopers and TIE fighters of the Empire: the clever and motley crew of the starship “Ghost.” Together, this ragtag group will face threatening new villains, have thrilling adventures, and become heroes."

Star Wars Rebels will premiere in the fall as a one-hour special on Disney Channel, before debuting as a series on sister channel Disney XD worldwide.

@Netman0007 It looks exactly like Star Wars unless you're actually counting the prequels.

"So...other than some Tue Fighters this looks nothing like Star Wars. Where's... you know....everyone associated with Star Wars?"

Prequel fan only confirmed.

This has the feel of the original films.

@RynerLute

It has the feel of Clone Wars season 1 and 2 for me AKA the bad seasons before the show got good.

sorry my ignorance (but when an old geezer by the name of Geppetto keep you locked up, what can you do) but I thought that the only Jedis left after the PREQUELS, was Obi,Yoda, Luke and Leia, Starkiller (if he is canon). So help me lighten up my confusion by telling me why do I see, what appear, two Jedis?.

Meh. At least is not another spinoff of the prequels.

@Netman0007 They might actually die before we get ANH. You'll probably see Han, Luke and Leia in the new movie.

Vader might be in the series.

Jedi and Sith are rare, not lightsabers. In the books and graphic novels, there are a lot of people who carry lightsabers.

And these guys will probably all die before ANH.

@Pinocchio

No other Jedi survived pretty much all of the council besides Yoda and Shaak Ti were killed during Order 66 and the Jedi Purge. Shaak Ti was later killed by Starkiller in the games which are canon. If I remember correctly the order of canon goes movie tv show game book comics and there have definitely been more jedi's in the books and comics. So ya other Jedi of all ranks survived from Master to padawan.

Hmm... The animation looks a little rougher than I was expecting...
Kinda on the fence about this.
Still, if this is from the same creative team that was pumping out those last few seasons of the Clone Wars, then it should be good!

Not convinced at all. They already gave a Lightsaber to the new guy? And it's called "Rebels"? The prequels [frick]ed everything up with the Jedi being everywhere,I was really hoping this show would stay away from all of that crap. I seriously thought this was going to be about people who don't use the Force.

Not really a fan of the character designs but the ships and other stuff look cool. And yeah I thought this would be about the rebellion and the rebel alliance themselves not just more jedi

Sorry but it's sad that they think a guy with a tiny ponytail & beard with no 'stache is supposed to look cool/badass.
He looks like a dumbass.
ndwwrestler2
ndwwrestler2 - 2/17/2014, 10:13 AM
@Netman0007 And Vader had one as well. And the lightsaber Obi Wan gave him was Anakin's old lightsaber.

It's not implausible to believe that there were more than just three lightsabers around.

Like I said: These guys might just die anyway, so it's not really a big deal.

I don't like the animation of Star Wars Rebels and Clone Wars... the cartoons look like shit like Batman Beware, Green Lantern and the new TMNT cartoon, they are bad CGI-Cartoons

@Netman

No the other media do count to the continuity. Now yes the movie is the top of the continuity pyramid but it doesn't mean none of the other media count. We also have very little amount of information beyond rumors and casting calls for two characters named "Rachel" and "Thomas" who sound like they might be the main characters. The only thing else is they say it is an "original story" which can mean many things it could possibly be a completely different tale of the post Emperor Star Wars universe or it just means it is not directly following any books. We have heard nothing that Luke hasn't created the New Jedi Order or any of that just it won't be a telling of any of the books. They can make a story that isn't from any of the books but still have elements from the books such as Luke creating the New Jedi Order.
