Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons is an upcoming animated film set to release on digital, Ultra 4K HD, and Blu-ray on October 18th.

You may have surmised the premise from the title; the protagonists of this particular DC Comics animated film are none other than Damian Wayne and Jonathan Kent A.K.A. the sons of DC's most popular heroes, Batman and Superman.

The film also features The Flash, Martian Manhunter and an assortment of other heroes such as some members of the Teen Titans. However, it's up to Damian and Jonathan to save the day when the rest of the heroes become possessed by Starro the Conquerer.

The voice cast features Jack Dylan Grazer (Shazam!) and Jack Griffo (The Thundermans) as the Superboy and Robin respectively as well as Laura Bailey (The Legend of Vox Machina) and Travis Willingham (The Legend of Vox Machina) as Lois Lane and Superman, Troy Baker (Batman: The Long Halloween) as Batman, Nolan North (Young Justice) as Jor-El, and Darin De Paul (Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge) as Lex Luthor.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has started to release clips from Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons online ahead of the film's proper debut in about two weeks from now. The first of these clips, which you can watch below, shows Jonathan Kent's initial reaction to finding out that his father is Superman and that he too may have extraordinary abilities.

Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons begins as 11-year-old Jonathan Kent discovers he has superpowers, thrusting the half-Kryptonian into the complicated world of Super Heroes and Super-Villains – who are now under attack by a malevolent alien force known as Starro! It's a race against time as Jonathan must join forces with assassin-turned-Boy-Wonder Damian Wayne to rescue their fathers (Superman & Batman) and save the planet by becoming the Super Sons they were destined to be!

@ModHaterSLADE - Another reason to hate Bendis for ending the Super Shoutas.

@Reeds2Much - never made sense to me why he aged up John so quickly. Could they not make compelling stories of him when he was younger?

This is going to be a fun time

Also up the budget and put it on the big screen and Supersons would probably do better than Super Pets

Although based on the trailers this and that are targeted towards different age groups

Super pers probably 5-10

Super sons 12+

@dracula - I agree. I don't understand why they aren't putting DCEU money into DC Animated. Imagine if Zack Snyder had done his dark take on the DC universe but it was Animated? Pixar or Into The Spiderverse quality animation, with the stars they had voice acting. I think literal every DCEU movie would be almost 100% improved if it was Animated like Super Pets or a dark edgy Pixar quality film. Like if Bruce Timms Animated universe went hyper realistic 3d on a big 2022 budget.

DC should corner THAT maket. Do solo director driven live action films on the side, while building a cinematic universe of big budget Animated movies.

@TheVandalore - I agree I never understood why either marvel or dc hasn’t done this. I always wanted a movie like the opening scene of Marvel Alliance games.

@TheVandalore - I agree to an extent, perhaps if Snyder’s version was part of the multiverse or something because when know the main issue was his take on the characters. However having an animated version would be really cool.

Why is DC not making the Blackest Night into an animated film? Can’t do it live action cause that’ll take forever for them to lead up to that. Hell, it can be an animated mini series. Live action? Idk though. Sounds too expensive. I wanna see it in action though.

If I were Zaslav, I'd try to give this some sort of cinematic release, with a low budget marketing campaign.

It's cheap animation, sure, but it's a product and one that probably has as much, if not more, appeal than Super Pets.

Utilize this animation team. Putting together a handful of low-budget CG projects and giving them a worldwide release is a damn good way of making some cash (which Warners obviously need right now).

Kingdom Come, Batman: Vampire... Jurassic League!

Get one or two big name voice actors to sell it and just let the DC Universe Original Animated Movie team do their thing.

Jason Momoa as Aquanyx. Kevin Conroy as Batsaur. Grant Gustin as Flashraptor.

That's free money right now, WBD.

@ObserverIO - while I agree with this WB is having a hard time making coherent decisions at the moment.
