As promised, a brand new trailer for Alita: Battle Angel is now online, and it contains plenty of exciting new footage from Robert Rodriguez's upcoming film.

The teaser debuted as part of a live Q&A session broadcast with Rodriguez, producers James Cameron and Jon Landau, and star Rosa Salazar, and gives us a much better idea of what to expect from this live-action take on Yukito Kishiro's story, as we see the amnesiac cyborg of the title square off against Ed Skrein's monstrously formidable villain.

Alita: Battle Angel opens December 21, 2018 and also stars Michelle Rodriguez, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein, Eiza Gonzalez, Jackie Earle Haley, and Christoph Waltz. Check out the new trailer below and let us know what you think.

Not sure how the freaky Anime eyes will go over with the public, but otherwise the marketing on this one is far better than “Ghost in the Shell”, “Valerian” or “Blade Runner 2029” by simple virtue of giving people clear good guys and bad guys to latch on to in the trailer, allowing the audience to piece together an idea of the narrative.

If the uncanny eyes don’t turn people off, it will likely be a bigger hit than any of those.
