AVATAR Actress Michelle Rodriguez Joins The Cast Of ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL As Cyborg Warrior Gelda
Though production has now wrapped on the James Cameron-produced live-action Alita: Battle Angel adaptation, Entertainment Weekly has learned that one particular cast member had flown under the radar...
Principal photography has now finished on Robert Rodriguez' Alita: Battle Angel, but we have one more casting announcement for you guys.
According to EW, Michelle Rodriguez (Avatar, Resident Evil, the Fast and Furious movies) will appear in the movie alongside previously confirmed cast members Rosa Salazar, Jennifer Connelly, Jackie Earle Haley, Christoph Waltz, Ed Skrein, Mahershala Ali, and Keean Johnson.
Rodrieguez will play a cyborg character named Gelda, who does appear in the original manga, but doesn't really have a whole lot to do with Alita's arc. Perhaps that'll be altered for the purposes of the film, however.
Alita: Battle Angel is expected to hit theaters on July 20, 2018.
