I don't know, I'm going through serious vampire fatigue. Can't these movie people come up with there own type of demon spawn instead of just re-using the same blood suckers. Just an opinion though.

@mercenary

You're not alone there...originality doesn't seem to be the forte these days. Perhaps it comes across as if going too far to the left or right won't generate interest by the audience so stick to what we know (vampires, zombies, aliens, werewolves, etc)

I'm really tired of all this f**king vampire bullshit. Wasn't it bad enough when all teenagers were getting axed, or sliced up in the eighties, now everything is vampire 90210 and all these little bitches want to get bitten. This vampire shit is as bad as reality tv, now I know why the teenagers in America are mostly f**ked up. They eat whatever shit you feed them and often like it. The real sad part of that is most of them couldn't tell you who Bram Stoker was, f**king idiots!

I for one LOVE THE [frick] OUT OF VAMPIRES!!! But i really hate how they've gone 90210 and shit. However, this is nothing else but stellar japanese action and should be taken as just that. Let the teenies masturbate to baseball playing lightbrights and that will leave all the REAL Vampire horror/action/adventure for us :))

BRING ON CASTLEVANIA!!!!

@Shaman. You love vampires because you really have no choice but to. They been done in so many different directions you were bound to love some interpretation.
Assassin was right about not many people knowing about Stoker. It was really his creation so I see him as the only one who could have kept on doing vampires. Oh and whoever wrote Nosferatu.
How would you guys like it if other people besides Lucas came out with a gang load of movies showing off their versions of Jedis. I for one would get tired of the force sooooo fast.

Yeah im kinda sick of VAMPIRES, but not this!! (Or TRUEBLOOD lol).

Pity we cant get more Superhero shows than all that other Vampire crap though.

WHISPERS @ No i missed it dude!!

Mercenary- I'm in love with the whole "lore" that was created around Dracula. The character actually sucks IMO. As for Star Wars, there are books, comics and games that have NOTHING to do with Skywalker or Obi-Wan. So it's a whole "realm" that was created and sadly i'm just not a fan of it as much as i am towards the vampire lore. So even though they seem to be force feeding us star wars left and right, i'm just not swallowing. What i am sick of is the bastardisation of the lore like "Twitlight". IMO, there's nothing wrong behind exploiting a concept and imporving on it. But to bastardise it is truly a crime. Of course, that all goes along each's personal tastes.

Well then we can agree on Twilight sucking big ones.

@mercenary

I really hope it's a unanimous decision about Twilight. I felt my life force being drained every second watching the film but I have a "thing" where I must somehow complete a movie once it begins. That was truly a "chick flick."

I don't have it!!! HAHAHAH... Oh I walked out on that sh%t. Then got rid of the chick I went with, got home and watched First Blood part 2.

Twilight, Grrrrrrrr! I wish I could afford to go to every theatre it's playing and slap the shit out of everyone who paid to see it. What Shaman calls bastardisation I call rape, I agree with him on this. Vampires are very cool, and to wonder what movies influenced by Anne Rice and Stoker could have been, it's a damn shame. Twilight, and that whole boy band bandwagon it started, someone needs an ass kicking for coming up with this shit.

I watched the anime version years ago. Previews of the live action version look really close to the cartoon. Although, I'm tire of the vampire movies, I might break down and get Blood.

@ Ror

What did you hate about it?

I personally was disappointed as I said with the effects and the acting at times was rather cheesy

Twilight needs to be banned and every sequel in mind. I can't believe they label that crap a "vampire" flick
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 10/13/2009, 6:25 PM
Pretty much everything. To be honest, I didn't even make it to the end, and i NEVER do that. Same old story, same old effects, same old dodgy, no effort acting. Just a pointless movie.
Whispers68
Whispers68 - 10/13/2009, 7:34 PM
@Ror

The acting did bother me quite a bit. If they had a problem with the effects, they could've went the aninated route because each scene involving the vampires being killed in one way or another lacked the necessary effects I expected from the live action version.

As the story progressed, it did end up a bit disappointing

I see alot of people are tired of the vampire shit i understand but True Blood seems to be adding werewolves,shifters can turn into any animal, demi gods, a whole lot of unexplained stuff yet to be looked at.
True blood is on point who agrees.

Leee, you think Spawn was better than Wolverine so im sure you would love this crap!

Yeah True Blood is different, its GOOD. It makes an effort with script, actors, it tries to be original, as hard as that is in the genre.

HA!!! Good one Merc, well done indeed ;P

ASSASSIN666- You and me, both!!! I've never needed to hit anyone in my life but goddamn would i open a can of elbows to the face on the [frick]ers who brought Twitlight to the big screen!!!

And everyone that remotely enjoys a good martial arts flick should definitely check out SHINOBI: HEART UNDER BLADE!!! It had everything from kick ass effects to great acting and fighting!!!

Ror- Man i need to get that box set of true blood!!!

I'm going to lose so points for writing this, but I have seen Twilight... But in My defence, I wish to make my reasons known:
1.) I didn't pay to see this film... Wouldn't waste my money in such a terrible way.
2.) A cute redhead I know wanted to watch it on dvd. She had read the books and told me they were good.
3.) I thought to myself "I love Vampire films...", and I was hoping to get into this chicks pants... Unfortunately, neither of those things happened. :(
