Gotta love Demon Slayer.

@Fogs - I really gotta catch up. I saw season 1 on Netflix then checked out the mugen train movie.

@Origame - It has such a nice wholesome premise and the manga also has some great life lessons in it. As Luigi pointed out below, sometimes it's kinda corny on the humor but that's more of a "getting used to" thing IMO.

@Fogs - it actually reminds me of my main problem with zombie media. It's always "they're no longer the person, there's no cure, you better put them out of their misery".

But this takes that as the wrong and misguided interpretation. And overcoming the problems of the demon transformation comes down to willpower and familial love.

@Origame - If you are watching it on Netflix, you're all caught up. I went to a streaming site to get the next chapter after the train, it's set in a "entertainment" area lol. I'm watching Jojo's Bizarre Adventure now until we get new episodes.

@Origame - I've read the entire thing and it goes deep, my friend. It's beautiful actually.

@Kadara - I know that. But the entertainment district arc already exists (I think it's on crunchyroll, I just don't wanna get another streaming service for one show), then there's another movie for the swordsmith village which I don't wanna see until after I see the entertainment district arc.

@Fogs - wow. I look forward to it.

@Fogs - yeah. I was so happy when I learned demon slayer beat the entire US comics industry by itself. It's really showing what good business just telling great stories can do.

@Origame - exactly, there's no comparison on the quality of manga and the current american comics industry. Sad but true.

I'm very into Berserk atm and damn, I just can't see anything that good being produced by mainstream Marvel or DC.

Dark Horse published the US version.

Show's kind of mid. It's alright in a Saturday morning cartoon way when it's not attempting comedy. But when it is attempting comedy (which is more than you might think) it is sooo annoying and cringey.

@Luigi - It's a Shonen, directed to teens. Check more mature ones like Berserk and they're way more serious (and heavy).
Kadara

@Fogs - This is directed to kids? It has so many mature themes lol!

@Kadara - You mean Demon Slayer? Yeah, to teens.

They have this value affirming thing which I personally love in the japanese culture. Never to abandon your values, never to quit people and their possible redeeming, value your family and friends, respect the deceased and heritage and so on.

We as western people need to get used to some of the style but that's it.

Kadara - 4/29/2023, 5:31 AM
@Fogs - Oh you had said teens, sorry my tired eyes saw that as kids for some reason and it shocked me lol! I just finished a saga that pretty much took place at a red light district so hence my shock. But I do agree and love the value statements the series tries to point out, it constantly shows no one is beyond redemption.

@Kadara - lol yeah, it would kinda hard to explain the red light district to kids. But even then they see those things in a much more normal way.
