We got our first teaser for Netflix's adaptation of
Death Note on Wednesday, and now the streaming service has released the first official photo from the film, showing a meeting between series protagonist
Light Turner (Nat Wolff) and the mysterious detective known only as
“L” (Keith Stansfield).
Fans of the series may be happy to see that the film will seemingly be preserving L's eccentric quirks and personality, with the photo showing him perched on his chair in the same manner as his anime counterpart. The detective was also glimpsed briefly in the trailer, though his face was covered by his hoodie.
Are you looking forward to the film? Let us know in the comments.
Death Note launches on Netflix on
August 25, 2017.
Intoxicated by the power of a supernatural notebook, a young man begins killing those he deems unworthy of life. Based on the famous Japanese manga.
