New GHOST IN THE SHELL Poster Marks Its 25th Anniversary Re-Release
Can you believe this classic Anime is 25 years old? To celebrate this milestone, a brand new poster in anticipation of the re-release of Ghost In The Shell on September 27th has found its way onto the grid. Take a look after the jump..
While we await the live-action version which is (apparently) in the works with Snow White And The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders at the helm, we can make do with the 25th anniversary re-release of Mamoru Oshii's Ghost In The Shell; which will return to theatres on Sep 27th, followed a week later by its sequel. Empire have debuted a new one-sheet for the movie, which you can see below.
The original Ghost In The Shell Manga was written by Masamune Shirow, and the subsequent film adaptation is up there with Akira as a benchmark Anime on which all that followed would be judged against. The story follows a member of an agency known as Section 9 named Motoko Kusanagi, as she searches for a mysterious hacker known as the Puppet Master. The live action film will be produced by Avi Arad, and Steven Paul.
