It was back in April that we heard Legendary was interested in acquiring the rights to Pokemon for a long overdue live-action movie, but it now appears as if Pokemon Go - a craze sweeping the globe and turning Nintendo's fortunes around - has renewed their interest in the property. While a deal has yet to close, it appears as if things are heading in that direction, something which is sure to make fans of the franchise happy. After all, Pokemon has the potential to be an amazing movie if handled properly.

The company's stock has increased by a whopping 25% since Pokemon Go was released in the US, and it's honestly surprising that a movie hasn't happened before now given the franchise's longevity. Of course, Nintendo are notoriously protective of their games - especially after some really awful movie adaptations - so chances are that they're negotiating a deal which will see them heavily involved with how this one turns out. Here's hoping we get more updates on when we can catch 'em all soon.

Loved the games, but in terms of anime, I was always a Digimon fan at heart.

Talk to me when that gets in development.
