ANT-MAN Star Evangeline Lilly Receives Backlash For Refusing To Self-Isolate Amid COVID-19 Concerns

Most celebs are encouraging people to stay at home and practice self-isolation as the world attempts to deal with the spread of COVID-19, but for Ant-Man star Evangeline Lilly it's "business as usual"...

We're all dealing with the coronavirus pandemic in our own way, but most would agree that the smart thing to do - especially if you or someone close to you is immunocompromised - is to self-isolate as much as possible until this eventually blows over.

Well, Ant-Man and The Wasp star Evangeline Lilly sees things a little differently.

The actress shared an Instagram photo captioned "businessasusual" as she dropped her kids off at gymnastics camp. Responding to the inevitable backlash in the comments, Lilly revealed that she's living with her father, who has stage 4 leukemia.

“I am also immune compromised at the moment,” she added. “I have two young kids. Some people value their lives over freedom, some people value freedom over their lives. We all make our choices.” The former Lost star went on to say that she considers the virus, which has now killed almost 10,000 people, to be nothing more than a “respiratory flu".

“Where we are right now feels a lot too close to Marshall Law [sic] for my comfort already, all in the name of a respiratory flu,” she responded in another comment. “It’s unnerving…Let’s be vigilant right now. And kind. Watchful and gracious — keeping a close eye on our leaders, making sure they don’t abuse this moment to steal away more freedoms and grab more power.”

How do you guys feel about Lilly's attitude? Do you share it, or do you think she's being a complete and utter moron bit silly? Let us know in the comments.

I mean she’s not wrong...It’s not a “drop dead” scenario. She’s not throwing massive celebrity parties. Sounds like she’s just saying she’s going out and about? Like a lot of other people probably are?

@mAdFaD - I'd agree if both her and her father weren't higher risk. It's just not worth it. And I'm saying that as someone who also thinks things have been blown out of proportion with this to an extent.

I really like Evangeline Lilly, and I know that she has gone through some serious personal issues over the past year, but its really not wise to disregard the health advisories, especially if you and your father are both immune compromised. This virus does not choose favorites, its highly transmissible. Best to be smart during this pandemic.
