Following a first look at Hot Toys' take on Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday, we now have the company's take on James Marsden's Cyclops. Now that he's decked out in a comic-accurate costume, it's hard to imagine how Marvel Studios' upcoming X-Men reboot will top this design.

Two versions of Scott Summers will be available. The first is the standard edition, which is light on accessories, but still an undeniably eye-catching display piece.

The Deluxe version, in contrast, comes with Scott's brown leather jacket (inspired by the comic; it's unclear whether that item of attire appears in Avengers: Doomsday) and a base that places Cyclops in the centre of a destroyed Sentinel's head.

Sideshow has also revealed that figures based on Sir Patrick Stewart's Professor X, Kelsey Grammer's Beast, and one of the MCU's Sentinels are also in the works. Those haven't been fully revealed yet, but can be glimpsed in the video at the bottom of this article. As longtime collectors will know, there's no guarantee figures teased in this way will ever be produced.

Talking to Entertainment Tonight at Comic-Con, Marsden said, "Seeing Cyclops in the comic book-accurate costume, we're giving [fans] what they want, and we're doing it in a way that severely turns up the volume. Everyone is going to be really happy. It's so satisfying to do this for the fans and myself. And my kids."

In a separate interview with CinemaBlend, he added, "What does feel the same? I guess that, sort of, feeling that runs through your blood when you put on the visor and you throw the suit on, and it’s such an iconic role. It’s such a special movie franchise that I’ve been a part of for so long. And that thrill and that sort of adrenaline rush, stepping into this character again, is the same from the first day I did it." You can hear more from Marsden on his MCU debut here.

Cyclops looks set to be front and centre in Avengers: Doomsday, and it's great to see Marsden get his due after being unceremoniously killed off in X-Men: The Last Stand. That was a result of his choosing to reunite with filmmaker Bryan Singer on Superman Returns.

Today, Hot Toys is excited to introduce the Deluxe Version of the 1/6th scale Cyclops Collectible Figure based on Avengers: Doomsday. To fully bring his mutant powers to life, the figure includes an array of interchangeable visors featuring vibrant, red translucent optic blast effects in various dynamic forms, allowing collectors to recreate his most iconic battlefield poses.

Cyclops’ uniform is perfectly recreated, featuring a tactical top with matching cargo pants, a weathered yellow asymmetrical chest harness accented by a striking circular X-logo emblem, a utility belt, a pair of weathered thigh straps, and a pair of combat boots engineered to give the X-Men leader a commanding stance on any display shelf. Let me be FIRST to say it's only been 20+ years to have Cyclops in costume v a Sentinel.

I think that's TOO [frick]ING SOON.

So glad we finally got rid of that All-Black leather X-Men look. One of the best parts of X-Men is their costumes, and this easily looks good.

That Sentinel design looks good. It also looks nothing like that "leaked" footage with Doom unless if those Sentinels lost the skin texture face? Whatever I just want this movie to come out so we can stop talking about fake stuff

This has been a long time coming for James Marsden. He deserves true redemption for the character.
