Avengers: Doomsday's "Doomsday Clock" Countdown Just Updated — And It's Exciting News For Fans Everywhere

Marvel Studios has revealed the nine cities set to welcome the Avengers: Doomsday cast on its upcoming Global Tour, while a new tease of Alan Silvestri's ominous score may reveal Doctor Doom's theme.

Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday "Doomsday Clock" countdown on YouTube received an intriguing update earlier. One city after another was slowly revealed, with it now confirmed that they're the locations for the movie's Global Tour.

For such a big movie, the list is surprisingly short. While dates haven't been announced, the Avengers: Doomsday cast will visit Las Vegas, São Paulo, Gold Coast, Rome, London, Seoul, Shanghai, Toronto, and Los Angeles.

There are some grumblings on social media about cities like New York and Paris being overlooked, and it will be interesting to see what fan events each of these locations will receive. We know that early screenings are set to take place before the movie officially opens on December 18, so Marvel Studios clearly isn't too worried about spoilers for this one.

For fans in or near these cities, this is an exciting development, and we'd imagine the movie's stars will be out in full force to build hype very soon.

In the countdown, a new piece of Alan Silvestri's Avengers: Doomsday score can seemingly be heard, and it's suitably ominous. Could it be Doctor Doom's theme in the movie?

The hope is that Avengers: Doomsday will end the Multiverse Saga on a high note, something Anthony Russo acknowledged when he was asked whether it's down to him and Joe to set things right.

"It’s a great question. It’s part of the unique challenge," the filmmaker said earlier this year. "The thing that Joe and I have always appreciated about our collaboration with Marvel is: Our job isn’t to answer for the entirety of the MCU. We intersect it in a very specific way. It’s that intersection which is where we can make sense of things."

Check out the official Doomsday Global Tour announcement below.

In Avengers: Doomsday, beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.

Avengers: Doomsday stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Winston Duke, Tom Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, and Robert Downey Jr. Wyatt Russell, Simu Liu, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Mabel Cadena, Florence Pugh, Danny Ramirez, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, Lewis Pullman, India Rose Hemsworth, and Wesley Holloway all make their Avengers franchise debuts.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps leads Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn, joined by X-Men franchise stars Kelsey Grammer, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, and James Marsden, plus Deadpool & Wolverine star Channing Tatum.

The Russo Brothers direct Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely, with whom they previously collaborated on the Avengers and Captain America franchises. Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness writer Michael Waldron has also been enlisted to refine the story, alongside Spider-Man: Brand New Day's Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on December 18.

Family obligations are a coin toss, when it comes to whether it's worth the time spent or not. If it's first rate relatives, I'm with her, you oughta go. Just make sure you stay offljne to avoid spoilers, is my suggestion.

The only reason we have a screening like the one I mentioned at this hour is because our officially approved release date is on December 16th. That's when I'm screening it on our theatre, so I'm definitely pulling an all-nighter that day.

It’s gonna be crazy!!.

@TheVisionary25 -

I'm not watching Dune (or Wildwood, which I'm even more excited for) before 2027. This week we screened Naza, and oh man... Talk about a necessarily infuriating piece of excellent documentary.

Counting the hours before a good version of last month's 4-hour Musk documentary is released online.

The marketing for this film has been so strange, it's really not capitalizing on what the audience are actually invested in. If anything it feels like a slap in the face to audiences, bringing back Phase 1-3 characters seemingly just to use them as canon fodder, mock them, belittle them, have them not even wearing their costumes or remotely acting in-character and then kill them off.

#How much of the movie is going to be wasted on Doctor Doom pretending to be 'just a guy'? Leaks state he's like that till the X-Men battle and that's the end of Act 2 so probably well over half the movie wasted on him just standing around?

@Gambito -

Avengers: Secret Wars is the easy one, you can just market that with the team-up between Deadpool, Wolverine and Spider-man who will be in the opening of Avengers: Doomsday and then return as leads in Avengers: Secret Wars. It'll hit with the nostalgia aspect and that'll make it earn a lot of money but that won't carry over to future projects post Secret Wars.

Vast majority of the general audience have seen nothing since Endgame so getting them to watch Avengers: Doomsday and like it more than just watching it for the sake of nostalgia is the difficult part especially if/when Avengers: Secret Wars get delayed and those who watch Avengers: Doomsday have 16-24 months to talk about it before the next film.

@Lucasberg -
They'll be popular for a while, box office will likely be high, but unless these are solid films in regards to quality of story telling then it could damage the Avengers brand.

Imagine if Avengers: Infinity War had released and it sucked and then you are left a year with the knowledge that they fricked it up. We're already seeing movies releasing, a cloud of hype/nostalgia followed by that fading and people moving on or acknowledging the film sucked. If that happens with Avengers: Doomsday the audience have over a year to sit with that.
Lucasberg
Lucasberg - 11/5/2026, 10:36 PM
@Scarilian - that will be true if it sucks however, I think the Russos are gonna pull a rabbit out of their hat again. They’v made 4 MCU bangers and have a good approach to this stuff and Spidey Brand New Day just teed this up

Very little happens for a majority of the movie. It seems like you have nostalgia driven opening act, then it's exposition until the end of Act 2 with the Sentinel fight and then the massive final battle.
Knightrider
Knightrider - 11/5/2026, 7:40 PM
@Scarilian - Probably not far off. I think to really set Doom as a bigger threat than Thanos is Doom will need to kill some major names in the opening act, like Andrew’s Spider-Man, Wesley Blade sort of thing.

Infinity War and Endgame's final trailers dropped in the same timeframe from release as Doomsday final trailer is dropping (next week).

To us young kids, Latvia was behind the Iron Curtain. Growing up in the '70s and '80s, we had virtually no information about the three Soviet states that made up that part of the map. Comics and the evening news were our only sources of information. So, to us, a Dr. Doom and witches could have been very real.

TY for Doom!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with most people on this board: It’s Wiccan, and the human avatar is what’s-his-names grandson. No major surprises.

I think Vision and Quill will mentor the Champions going into Secret Wars.
