UPDATE: Avengers: Doomsday Character Images Spotlight The Avengers, X-Men, And Fantastic Four — And Boris

New Avengers: Doomsday promotional artwork spotlights Doctor Doom, the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four, but some notable characters are missing from the first batch of standees.

UPDATE: A new look at Boris and the Latverian Witches in Avengers: Doomsday has also been revealed today on a couple of promo posters that you can see below. Could that "Shh" gesture from Boris be a clue about who lies beneath the mask?

The next—and potentially final—trailer for Avengers: Doomsday is expected this month, and some upcoming cardboard cutouts have revealed a new look at the movie's leads.

Doctor Doom, the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four are all spotlighted here; many images are familiar, as they've been featured heavily in other promo art, but a handful are new.

There are, however, some noticeable absences. For example, there's no sign of Steve Rogers, the Human Torch, or The Falcon, though that's not necessarily an indication their respective roles in Avengers: Doomsday will be any smaller than the rest of the ensemble featured here. They may just follow somewhere down the line, along with some of the movie's other surprises.

During a recent interview with Collider, Nightcrawler actor Alan Cumming said that being asked to reprise his X2: X-Men United role came "completely out of the blue" and was "really nice."

He added, "I forgot how much I liked [Nightcrawler]. When I look back on last time, I don't really think much about the playing of him and the character — it's all sort of mired in the whole awful nature of the fact that making it was so difficult. He’s got a sensitive side, and he's quite funny. It was nice to go back to something and remember how much you actually enjoyed it."

While Nightcrawler isn't one of Avengers: Doomsday's leads, Cumming promised, "He's got nice bits, but there's a lot of superheroes in that film. It's so nuts. It's like superhero soup."

Check out these shots of Avengers: Doomsday's leads in the X posts below.

In Avengers: Doomsday, beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.

Avengers: Doomsday stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Winston Duke, Tom Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, and Robert Downey Jr. Wyatt Russell, Simu Liu, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Mabel Cadena, Florence Pugh, Danny Ramirez, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, Lewis Pullman, India Rose Hemsworth, and Wesley Holloway all make their Avengers franchise debuts.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps leads Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn, joined by X-Men franchise stars Kelsey Grammer, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, and James Marsden, plus Deadpool & Wolverine star Channing Tatum.

The Russo Brothers direct Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely, with whom they previously collaborated on the Avengers and Captain America franchises. Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness writer Michael Waldron has also been enlisted to refine the story, alongside Spider-Man: Brand New Day's Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on December 18.

They all look great imo but why is that it feels like everyone else is drawn while Red Guardian & Mystique have been copy & pasted onto the white background?.

Anyway i dig Namor’s outfit , reminds me of these from the comics…

Also I wish they hadn’t cut Thor’s hair for this (whether it was a Hemsworth decision or The Russo’s) since it just feels like them trying to capitalize on the Infinity War version which many think is the peak of the MCU version of the character rather then a natural continuation but we’ll see , perhaps they give an explanation for it in the film.

Avengers: The Culling

It is a given that all of the previous Fox X-Men are going to die. Deadpool and maybe Wolverine as exceptions though I’m hoping Wolvie isn’t.

The casting of the new X-Men is looking really good so far. I’m hoping Indy as Rogue starts as a villain this time around.
TheVisionary25
TheVisionary25 - 11/3/2026, 7:39 AM
@Truebeliever333 - yeah , I think a fair amount of the X-Men will die in this

I’m going with Xavier , Magneto , Cyclops , Nystique and Nightcrawler tbh.
Truebeliever333
Truebeliever333 - 11/3/2026, 7:46 AM
@TheVisionary25 - if rumors are accurate then they have recast Cyclops, Beast, Emma, Iceman, Angel and Jean for sure. Prof X obviously must be recast.

I think it’ll be everyone but Deadpool.

And I think it might be starting with the original five X-Men in rebooted universe.

@Truebeliever333 - Original five X-Men team and other mutants existing.
RolandD

@Truebeliever333 - Storm and Rogue will be in the movie too but I would like it if they joined after the OG 5. Who knows. Rogue could start off as a villain.
Truebeliever333
Truebeliever333 - 11/3/2026, 7:26 PM
@RolandD - I really hope Rogue starts as a villain. It’d make sense too. First, in the comics she does. Second, who they cast. Third, short on villain casting so far.
RolandD
RolandD - 11/3/2026, 8:01 PM
@Truebeliever333 - I am down for it. If it doesn’t happen and she starts out as a hero, it’s not gonna break the movie for me, but I think it would be an interesting change or as you put it, like she appeared at first in the comics. I do not have a desire like a lot of people used to say here to see her drain Captain Marvel‘s powers. I’ll never completely get the heat she gets as a character.
Truebeliever333
Truebeliever333 - 11/3/2026, 8:52 PM
@RolandD - It’d be great. And same, isn’t a dealbreaker for me either. It’d just be a nice change and more like comic book Rogue. CB Rogue is an anti-hero/hero, a redeemed villain.

As for Captain Marvel I’d say she doesn’t make sense in the MCU. Strength, durability and flight. So could make sense with her. Namor could as well, mostly.
Truebeliever333
Truebeliever333 - 11/3/2026, 8:53 PM
@Truebeliever333 - MCU is way more OP than the character was when Rogue stole her powers in the comic.
McMurdo
McMurdo - 11/3/2026, 11:39 PM
@Truebeliever333 - the new cast is pretty bad so far. They hired a little red headed squirt to play Jean. They completely botched the Rogue casting. Storm looks like Storm and Cyclops will hopefully be fine but if the Iceman casting is true. Just hard to be excited considering what we coulda had in this reboot.
Truebeliever333
Truebeliever333 - 11/4/2026, 1:22 AM
@McMurdo - I disagree. Casting looks pretty good to great so far to me. Most excited about the Beast casting. That guy is great on Dunk and Egg.

Why do they keep using the same concept art images over and over instead of REAL photos of the actors?

:|

Marvel Studios just got lazy as hell or what?
Scarilian
Scarilian - 11/3/2026, 5:08 PM
@gambgel -
They likely have very few, if any, photos of the real actors. A majority of the shots were filming a character in-front of green-screen and just placing them in varying scenes.

They also believe that it'll increase the appeal by not showing much of the film itself.
gambgel
gambgel - 11/3/2026, 5:58 PM
@Scarilian - All the big movies have photoshoots with a proffesional photographer, some actors do their shoot one day, others another day... with a cast this big, the photographer was likely working during various weeks.

So your excuse doesnt really work here.
alleverybody
alleverybody - 11/3/2026, 6:34 PM
@gambgel - They have full professional photos, but maybe they like the concept art look.

For example, Mystique looks good here and kind of rough in the photos.
