Karen Gillan Teases AVENGERS: ENDGAME Confrontation; Addresses Next GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Film

Nebula actress Karen Gillan teases fans that her character will have to confront some "serious daddy issues" in the upcoming Avengers: Endgame movie. She also confirms she's seen a script for GotG Vol. 3.

With Marvel having finally lifted the lid on Avengers: Endgame, many of the film's stars have begun to finally speak out about the highly anticipated film and what fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe can expect to see when our beloved heroes return to the big screen next year.

Speaking to People, Karen Gillan, who plays Nebula in the MCU, couldn't say much but did tease a confrontation with her hated, abusive father Thanos (Josh Brolin) in Avengers: Endgame.

“What can I say? Thanos is her dad and she is definitely going to confront some serious daddy issues,” Gillan said. “That’s for sure.”

This can be interpreted a number of ways. She could be referring to an actual physical confrontation with Thanos which, of course, wouldn't be surprising. Or, she could be hinting at confronting these issues on a more personal, emotional level.

There's no doubt that Nebula has some pent up anger towards her father, but she is hardly the only character in Avengers: Endgame to have a beef with Thanos. Like Infinity War before it, it'll be interesting to see how Avengers: Endgame will handle all of these individual storylines while wrapping up the overarching plot.

Gillan also addressed the next Guardians of the Galaxy film, which has plenty of questions surrounding it following director James Gunn's firing.

“Our director won’t be with us any longer but we are excited to continue the Guardians of the Galaxy story and keep delivering to the fans. That’s the most important thing. I don’t have any details as to when [the next Guardians film will come out] but there’s a script in existence.”

She added, "I may have had a little teeny peek, but I can't say anything."

Avengers: Endgame will rock your universe when it hits theaters April 26, 2019. Meanwhile, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is more of a question mark with production reportedly delayed until 2021.

@DnA - The fact we will only get two films in 2020 tells me Guardians 3 is on hold....

Gunn is not irreplacable. People thought whedon was irreplacable after avengers too

If feige takes his time he can find someone really creative and end the trilogy on a high note.

@Jeight8 - Ehhhhh Whedon was even replaceable even after Avengers. Not saying Avengers was bad but I never liked how the film was shot like a TV movie. AOU though was much better shot but with AOU you always had interviews with Whedon complaining along with knocking other films like he said a comment about Indiana Jones Temple Of Doom & how doing the gun trick was a cheap gag & called Jurassic World ‘70s era sexist’ after 1 clip of the film was released

Meanwhile with Gunn...... he pretty much created the GOTG world & characters. Whedon has to get established characters together but Gunn got to introduce & develop all his characters. Gunn was even involved in Infinity War & perhaps in Endgame aiding the Russos in how to handle the GOTG characters. Hell even if they use Gunn’s script, can you claim he’s truly irreplaceable?

The situation between Gunn & Whedon is completely different creatively

@LEVITIKUZ - the majority of the guardians dialogue in iw was markus and mcfeely. Gunn wrote a couple of jokes and selected the rubber man son in their first scene.

And the fact that the majority of their best moments were russos/markus and mcfeely proves beyond doubt that there are other people who can uandle them as well.

@Jeight8 - Maybe there are a FEW others, but very, very few if I were betting. Marvel's first big swing and miss could very well be the next GOTG film. That is why they are pumping the brakes and slowing things down. I bet the final product comes out serviceable, but just doesn't have that same flare and feel. And that is with Gunn's script, after that I foresee a big drop off.

Today is Charlie Cox’s birthday & tomorrow is Krysten Ritter’s birthday

The best 2 Defenders (this was taken while filming Defenders, obviously not recently)

@Jeight8 - Because being bitter about the cancelation of the best comic book show of all time with performances like Charlie’s Daredevil & Vincent’s Kingpin that match any hero/villain dynamic in comic book films that got to develop a rivalry that comic book films can’t match because the MCU keeps killing off villains who they underdevelop is a bad thing?
