With Marvel having finally lifted the lid on
Avengers: Endgame, many of the film's stars have begun to finally speak out about the highly anticipated film and what fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe can expect to see when our beloved heroes return to the big screen next year.
Speaking to People, Karen Gillan, who plays Nebula in the MCU, couldn't say much but did tease a confrontation with her hated, abusive father Thanos (Josh Brolin) in
Avengers: Endgame.
“What can I say? Thanos is her dad and she is definitely going to confront some serious daddy issues,” Gillan said.
“That’s for sure.”
This can be interpreted a number of ways. She could be referring to an actual physical confrontation with Thanos which, of course, wouldn't be surprising. Or, she could be hinting at confronting these issues on a more personal, emotional level.
There's no doubt that Nebula has some pent up anger towards her father, but she is hardly the only character in
Avengers: Endgame to have a beef with Thanos. Like
Infinity War before it, it'll be interesting to see how
Avengers: Endgame will handle all of these individual storylines while wrapping up the overarching plot.
Gillan also addressed the next
Guardians of the Galaxy film, which has plenty of questions surrounding it following director James Gunn's firing.
“Our director won’t be with us any longer but we are excited to continue the Guardians of the Galaxy story and keep delivering to the fans. That’s the most important thing. I don’t have any details as to when [the next Guardians film will come out] but there’s a script in existence.”
She added,
"I may have had a little teeny peek, but I can't say anything."
Avengers: Endgame will rock your universe when it hits theaters April 26, 2019. Meanwhile,
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is more of a question mark with
production reportedly delayed until 2021.
