Rumored Details On Jonathan Majors' Firing And AVENGERS: THE KANG DYNASTY 5

Jonathan Majors was officially fired from his MCU role as Kang by Marvel Studios earlier today after being found guilty of two of the charges filed against him by ex-girlfriend Grace Jabarri.

The jury found the Loki and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star guilty of two misdemeanour counts of harassment and assault, as well as not guilty on two additional charges of intentional assault in the third degree and aggravated harassment in the second degree.

The trades announced that Marvel/Disney had severed ties with Majors almost immediately after the news that he'd been found guilty broke, which would obviously seem to suggest that they were waiting for the verdict before making their decision. However, in his latest newsletter, Jeff Sneider indicates that the studio was never going to move forward with Majors as Kang regardless of the outcome of the trial.

As for the next Avengers movie, it's believed that The Kang Dynasty subtitle has been dropped (no surprise there), and the project is being referred to internally as "Avengers 5" for the time being. To what extent the current story will be altered remains to be seen, but Marvel revamping it as "Secret Wars Part 1" is sounding more and more likely.

According to one of Sneider's sources, "Secret Wars is basically shaping up to be a giant five-hour movie with a year-long intermission.”

Insider Daniel Richtman has also weighed in, and he claims that filming was actually set to commence as soon as next March in the UK - but he has heard that, had Majors been found not guilty, he would have stayed on as the Conqueror.

As we know, Loki writer Michael Waldron was hired to pen a new draft, but the conclusion of Loki season 2 was still going to inform the main plotline.

Richtman has also heard that, despite rumors to the contrary, Doctor Doom was never being positioned to replace Kang as the new big bad of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and would have (and may still be) a secondary villain of the next Avengers films.

Will Marvel Studios find a new actor to play Kang, or will they pivot away from the character completely? It's entirely possible that a decision has yet to be made, but we should find out more before the end of the year.

Which outcome would you prefer? Be sure to share your thoughts in the comments section down below.

Anyone who paid attention the last couple of months knew this. There was no way MS was ever going to move forward with Majors regardless of the outcome.

@regularmovieguy - then why wait for the verdict to fire him? Not a great look

The thing to do is to pivot to the Eternals and introduce Galactus. Marvel ALREADY has cued up the premise for Galactus to come to earth. The giant Celestial in the Indian ocean. Have Galactus sense the power that is coming from the Celestial. The big bad should be the Heralds of Galactus who are not as powerful as Galactus but are still Thanos level threats.

Pivot and move on from Kang. They [frick]ed up the introduction and failed to build the character up to be interesting. Loki took over HWR, end the Kang stuff there.

They discarded the Mandarin unceremoniously, they can do the same with Kang. Use him as TV villain if you feel the need to wrap that shit storyline up, I doubt much of the audience care at this point, it's pretty damn apparent this big bad ain't the big bad they were hoping for.

They arent getting rid of Kang.

You literally can't after what loki set up lol. That was the most significant event in the mcu since endgame.

Rosraf
Rosraf - 12/19/2023, 1:05 AM
@AvalonX - yeah, Loki S2 could just as easily be seen as an end to the Kang storyline.
Toonstrack
Toonstrack - 12/19/2023, 2:29 PM
@AvalonX - no? The ending of Loki S2 confirmed that he will be coming for a war against his variants
AvalonX
AvalonX - 12/19/2023, 3:24 PM
@Toonstrack - No, it established the variants were already out there. It ends HWR and also establishes that none of the variants have caused any trouble except on 616 "but they handled it."

They could write it off that the TVA along with Loki who "sees all" knocked off the Variants before they became any trouble.

Loki is now in control of the Multiverse. Thats why he asks Mobius how does he know who to prune. He can easily just whack all the Kang variants if he wanted to. He also has the power to make a sacred timeline again. He choose not to to give all the variants (which his friends are) a choice to make the multiverse work. That was the entire point Sylvie made to him when he asked her what to do. He lets her live (who kills HWR) and then he destroys the Loom. No more sacred timeline.
Toonstrack
Toonstrack - 12/20/2023, 9:46 PM
@AvalonX - loki is not in control of the mutliverse.

You didn't even understood what you watched. Literally all he is doing is keeping it from collapsing. What happens in those timrliens is completely out of his control.
AvalonX
AvalonX - 12/21/2023, 1:30 PM
@Toonstrack - Is it possible for you to say your opionion without being a douche about it? He brought the branches back to life. What happens if he lets go or disconnects one of the branches? Therefore, he is in control.
Toonstrack
Toonstrack - 12/21/2023, 1:46 PM
@AvalonX - theres no opinions. There are facts.

His role is to keep the multiverse from collapsing. He cannot govern events in them. He is acting as the Loom, and the Loom didn't govenr events either. This is clesrly, plainly established my guy.

Pay attention to what you watch.
AvalonX
AvalonX - 12/22/2023, 1:16 PM
@Toonstrack - Again with the douche response. He can kill any branch. He not acting like the Loom. The Loom was designed to prune anything but the sacred timeline. Loki is doing the opposite of that, he is keeping all the branches alive. They literally show him bringing the branches to life. You have no idea what you are talking about. If he wanted to kill any branch with a Kang in it, he could. If he wanted to help the TVA locate the Kangs, he could. If he wanted one single branch to become the only timeline, he could. Thats why hes called the God of Stories now.
