On this site, I usually jusy sit back and watch you all bicker between each other. This is my first time posting an article, because this is the first time I feel that it's necessary. So enjoy, and don't hate too bad.
I know that most people on this site have different feelings on who they think the villain other than Loki will be in the upcoming Avengers movie. And I believe I've figured it out. Some of you all will be very pleased with this news.. It IS a shapeshifting alien species! But not the Skrulls, It's the CHITAURI!! Most people read that and say who? Well, if you'll familiarize yourself with the history of the Chitauri, you'll see my reasoning for this.
In the comics, they disguised themselves among the human race. Some of them in the Nazis of Germany during World War II. They helped the Nazis in their attempt at world conquest by providing them with the technology to create a nuclear bomb carried by a missile. But this attempt was stopped by none other than Captain America. Because in 1945, Captain America was part of an group assaulting a Nazi missile complex in Iceland, which held the missiles that the Chitauri was helping them build. Captain America sabotaged the missile and crashed the ship which put him in a coma for 60 years, in a suspended state.. Sound familiar?
That means the Chitauri was under the control of the Red Skull, and means they have knowledge of the Cosmic Cube being on Earth.
They withdrew all of their members following the end of the war to make new plans. They attempted a conquest again, but much more subtly this time. They used manipulation threw means of drugs and the media. The Chitauri also infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D., specifically the Psi-Division. Which could telepathically point out Chitauri agents(Sort of like Professor Xavier in using Cerebro). BUT, S.H.I.E.L.D. was able to detect some of the low-ranking staff of the aliens, disguised as common office workers, and wiped them out in an assault led by Black Widow and Hawkeye.
This is how they realized that they were ready to attack. And it ALSO explains why Black Widow and Hawkeye were already with S.H.I.E.L.D. and part of the Avenger Initiative. So if I'm wrong than I'll accept it. But, it does tie up alot of loose ends that these movies have kept open.
