Cannot wait to see him in Thor: The Dark World, GOTG, and Avengers 2 and that looks lie Chitauri armour. Wonder if the Chitauri were his go to army or just one of the many that pledged alligence in exchange for not dying because the Badoon are supposed to be GOTG enemy in addition to Thanos. Wonder how long they take to reveal Chthon as "The Other" while they are at it

Okay @SuperJoe. At least we'll get a Darkseid-like character on the big screen, unlike DC.

I think that last one fits in with how the rest of the universe looks. Kinda resembles the style of armor from Thor.

@Reasonnnn you guys also got daredevil, catwoman, elektra, and fantastic four on the big screen...getting them there doesn't always mean they should have been there in the first place hahha

Cool pics of the Mad Titan Thanos! Besides Galactus, Thanos is another comic book villian that gives me goosebumps.

When my friend saw the after credits ending and saw Thanos, she asked if Hellboy is going to be in the sequel...lol. She's not the first person to say that.

SUPERJOE

I don't think successfully conquering the entire universe on multiple occasions constitutes as being pathetic. I don't remember Darkseid doing that even once. Just saying......

STARSCREAM

Jim Starlin stated that Thanos was heavily influenced from Darkseid. I could see the similarities though, but Thanos is much more interesting and complex IMO.

@Marvel87 I had the same person say that he was Darkseid and Apocalypse within 30 seconds. Its been awkward between us ever since.

I REALLY like the two full body ones. His face and armor look old and worn in. He should seem like this ancient Titan that's been around the block. But the bottom one, closest to the one they ended up doing, is more like what's already been established in Thor and with the Chitauri so I think that was the right way to go. Hopefully they can find a happy medium for phase 2.

As far as you DC fangirls crying out there... Marvel simply does it BETTER! So they took an interesting poorly fleshed out cosmic bad ass and made him the Mad [frick]ing Titan! Pull all your "rip off" bull crap that you want, and Marvel will ALWAYS have done it better! broody billionaire vigilante who hides behind a cowl and has a penchant for young boys... [frick] that, let's have a billionaire playboy who wants the world to know who he is and he builds badass suits and kicks the shit outts everything to include a [frick]ing DRAGON! men in tights archer with archaic facial hair... screw him, let's have a hooded archer that doesn't use boxing glove arrows! Suck it up. DC is Lameville! BTW, I read BOTH and pretty much any comic I can get my hands on, and I have for more than 20 years now. Both comics superpowers (Dc and Marvel) have their place, but I'm sick of DC fannywaistes trolling Marvel articles with tears and butthurtedness! Screw DC, screw Nolan and yes... you know the rest!

sorry... that last post is really not like me, but damn... I just want a comment section that actually aknowleges the epicness of the attached article! That's a badass depiction of one of the BEST comic villians EVER! And we get this "rip off" BS! MOST if not ALL comic characters have roots in OTHER characters! It's the nature of life! You see a good idea and you want to make it better! Who cares whers it started, look where the CBM universe has made it too! The BEST BOX OFFICE MOVIES OF LATE ARE [frick]ING CBMS!!!!!!!!!! Be thankful our characters are ON the big screen!

Hey, Thanos maybe a rip-off, but at least Marvel has the balls to attempt bringing him to the big screen meanwhile DC/WB are still having the time of their life trying to do something besides sucking on the tit of Superman and Batman.
RamonSuarez
RamonSuarez - 10/1/2012, 10:36 PM
Thanos, like Deadpool, is a rip-off of a previous DC villain.

But just like Deadpool, Thanos is an improvement on a more boring character who is now more popular and interesting for being Marvelized.

Sorry.

@ 1RoninAmongBitches

Yeah he is, but he's still his own character. Seriously you can take a look at both companies' rosters and find similarities everywhere, but when it comes down to it the characters all have their own stories and power sets.

Grimm - 10/1/2012, 11:25 PM
who said anything about clearing or changing your mind? i don't give a [frick] what you like or don't like. the common ground was that this is a Thanos article, and Dc fannys gotta rip it by saying he is a darkseid copy and I'm sick of that tired BS. I like darkseid too, but Thanos is on the big screen and that's what the article is about.
