Jesse Bradford Reveals He Read For CAPTAIN AMERICA

The star of Marvel's new short Item 47, Jesse Bradford, was talking about his experience with the project when he revealed that he actually read for the part of Captain America in Cap's solo film. He also talked about if him and Lizzy Caplan will have a future with Marvel outside their short.

When The Avengers is released on Blu-ray and DVD later this September it will include a new short film titled Item 47. The short stars Jesse Bradford and Lizzy Caplan as a couple who stumbles upon one of the super-powered weapons left behind by the Chitauri, and decide to launch a life of crime. The short is designed to bridge The Avengers with Marvel's next film Iron Man 3. While talking with MovieLine asked the pair if they were up for any superhero roles. "I read for Captain America. I was literally looking at the material, going, 'What are they, crazy? I’m not right for this.' I got nothing to lose by going in there, but I know I’m not going to get it. And I’m walking in there going, 'They should just give this job to Chris Evans, he’s perfect for this!' He’s my buddy, and as I was auditioning, I was picturing Chris Evans saying the words," said Bradford. Caplan says that she had went out for a few superhero roles but no Marvel roles.

With Marvel's shorts often spring boarding actors in to more significant roles in the Marvel universe, such as the case with Clark Gregg's Agent Coulson, rumors have been swirling that will be the case with Item 47 as well. Bradford has asked the execs exactly what it is they intend to do with the pair after this short hits where he was told, "The possible goal is that these guys become a part of the world. The other possible thing is that this is it. We just don’t know yet.” With Marvel laying out their plans during Comic Con for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Thor: The Dark World, Ant-Man, and Guardians Of The Galaxy one this is for sure, Marvel certainly is going to be busy the next couple of years.
