Very Elfman sounding. I'm digging it.

It won't come close to Zimmer's TDKR score, imo. This should no doubt be worth a pick up, though. I'm usually a sucker for film scores.

@Asterisk I think they were going for John Williams, though.

This is awesome! But I won't be buying it, the Official Soundtrack is for me.

I've got mixed feelings about this score. While I like it, it feels too generic for the Avengers. I was hoping they would go for a more epic score for the Avengers. And by that I mean that each character has their own theme that would mix into one large theme for the team itself. Instead it just sounds like another Silvestri score. In all fairness though, that's not that bad of a commiseration.

Giacchino never did Transformers. That was Steve Jablonsky. Giacchino did Star Trek.

Alan Silvestri's score for Captain America was GREAT! Listening to the songs "Passage Of Time" and "This Is My Choice" brings a tear to my eye, lol.

finally i have been waiting for a sampler of the Silvestri score, thanks for sharing this. my guess is that there's possibly more of the music not included in this release like from what i read before that Alan Silvestri is gonna be making an individual theme for each characters (just a hunch) or it really probably didn't make it on the final selections..excited to hear how the final score felt on the film itself now... 2 more weeks to go

Heard the samples, they sound like a good fit for the film...but I wonder what the spoilers were wit the titles. Some we know, like The Chase and Helicarrier, but what do the other titles spoil?

jj2g - 4/4/2012, 7:29 PM
I listen to it and I only like Promise, Helicarrier, The Avengers, and One Way Trip. The rest shows too TV-ish and they sound the same

RABB1T

"A Promise" Could, more than likely, have something to do with Steve dancing with Peggy. He did promise, didn't he? I would love to see that in, "The Avengers"- That would be very beautiful.

Some of the tracks sound too similar, but they are enjoyable- not memorable, but enjoyable.
JDUKE25
JDUKE25 - 4/4/2012, 7:32 PM
Like I said, the scores for Avengers suit the movie and obviously TDKR soundtrack is going to be amazing, but what I'm really looking forward to is the Amazing Spider-Man soundtrack.
Wildaniel
Wildaniel - 4/4/2012, 7:35 PM
@TheGambitFreak and @nailbiter111

Ok, yeah I read them. The one for CATFA had nothing but spoilers with the titles, lol.

Only samples, that sucks. I will be buying the physical CD if they have it.

Steve Jablonsky's Transformers music are my favorite score albums!
MadTitan
MadTitan - 4/4/2012, 7:40 PM
@nailbiter111 - contrary to what you said, IMO Silvestri gave CA -- a fitting, heroic theme deserving of the iconic character, i'm not an American yet it felt heroic and sends me chill watching the "Triumphant Return" on the screen...

and if i may correct you, the song was not composed by Silvestri but by another Alan --- Alan Menken.

SageMode - 4/4/2012, 7:40 PM
NAILBITER111- "I just finished listening to all 18 tracks, and I know it is just a sample, but they stink. I'm sorry but Silvestri is the safe boring choice for composer, and based on what I heard there is nothing appealing in what he has done. No contrast, it's like as if he was a painter and he painted an image just using different shades of blue. For the past decade the guy has zero contrast, he is snooze city. They should've used Michael Giacchino, his work on Transformers made it almost watchable."

I think there's a difference between a composer's score sounding the same in every movie they're attached to and a composer having a signature sound that you can automatically tell who it is when their music is played in a movie. HANS ZIMMER sound is noticeable but his scores sound differently fitting for each movie he scores. Same thing with Steve Jablonsky his score from The Transformers films and the Friday the 13th remake sound different from each other, but I can tell it Jab.
