Produced by THQ Inc., the game is being designed for the Wii, Nintendo DS, Playstation 2 computer entertainment system, and PSP. Simon Phillips, president, Worldwide Consumer Products and CEO, Marvel Animation, "We are confident THQ will bring the renowned Marvel characters to life in a video game that will satisfy the longtime Marvel fans, as well as bring new fans into the fold."
The premise of the game is described as pitting the Marvel Super Hero Squad against Dr Doom and his gathered legion of villains as they attempt to recover the hidden Infinity Fractals, which are fragments of the all-powerful Infinity Sword. Each Infinity Fractal holds incredible power and can have significant effects on its possessor, giving each character special abilities that could alter the game's rules and playing field."
There will be more than 20 Marvel characters to mix and match, utilizing character-specific super powers and customized combo attacks to blast, punch and bash "in fast-moving combat with their nemesis. Players can either jump into a battle arena against up to three opponents in Battle Mode, or choose to relive six campaigns as depicted from the animated series in Adventure Mode."

I think this is a good idea, get the younger kids into comics. Though I'd wish the Wii would start producing more adult oriented games, otherwise I'm 86'n the monkey.

My kids won't play this, they play Lego Batman, Marvel Ultimate Alliance or sit happily watching me on Fallout 3 and InFamous! They don't want this!

Looks like this crappy "spiderman and friends" game my kids had for this crappy "v-smile" console. I mean come on, super heroes picking up litter?! Doc Oc the super villain wasting water? [frick] off!

Why dont they just make a good superhero game that allows you to smash things? Arkham Asylum looks waaaaayy too complicated. I;m no longer excited for it.

DarkAvengers... I've played early work for Arkham... And if it seems complicated for you...You gotta be like 4. I'm sorry. It's pretty simple, really.

I can't wait to see which characters get butchered for this.. I can just imagine a kid friendly punisher... With super soakers and nerf rifles.

Maybe it will be like Lego: Batman and have a cheesy sense of humor to it as well. That's what the comics are all about.
