Previously-Reported Villain For The Avengers Appearing After All; Possible Plot Details Revealed

While we still don't know the names of mysterious aliens in Joss Whedon and Marvel's The Avengers, here is something that confirms the "other" villain, plus some new info on what happens in the film. SPOILER WARNING!

I have to say, I wasn't sure whether or not to post this because of two reasons. First one is that this is something Marvel & Disney probably won't reveal in their marketing (posters, trailers, TV spots, etc...) and the second reason is that this will be a big surprise for the fans when they see the film. Having said that, I decided to post it because this is not something we haven't heard before. Those who read a report a while back about a certain villain in The Avengers, won't mind this, but if you don't want to know what happens in the film, please don't read anything below!

It's worth mentioning that this exclusive info I have contains some major plot details. Source who told me this, is the same one who gave me other details before on X-Men: First Class and another scene description from The Avengers involving Loki being captured by S.H.I.E.L.D. before we saw the teaser. Once again, spoiler warning! Just highlight the text below to read everything!

OK, so...The other big villain we will see is THANOS. Latino Review broke that news in May but since then it has been pretty quiet regarding that. Well, according to my source, he is indeed in the film and the mysterious aliens everyone is talking about, is his army. As for the plot details, well, it will be very interesting...Basically Thanos makes a deal with Loki (like Hiddleston said in one interview that Loki makes some shady deals) to get him the Infinity Gauntlet. He trades his army for the Gauntlet. And that's about it. No word on what 'Leviathan' is though.

Starring Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Cobie Smulders, The Avengers is set to hit theatres on May 4, 2012!

Continuing the epic big-screen adventures started in "Iron Man," "The Incredible Hulk," "Iron Man 2," "Thor," and "Captain America: The First Avenger," "Marvel’s The Avengers" is the super hero team up of a lifetime. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster.

I find this difficult to believe. I personally feel if they do go this route that Thanos shouldn't show up until the very end and lead into the next movie. Otherwise it will be too much too soon.

Here are some quotes from other sites coinciding with this report, who said the following back when LR revealed the "big villain".

[blockquote]at least not until the end, but there’s a surprise at the end that I don’t think can be rewritten due to Marvel’s long-term planning
http://www.badassdigest.com/2011/05/02/the-avengers-probably-not-delayed[/blockquote]

[blockquote]I highly advise staying away from @LatinoReview's THE AVENGERS scoop. I mean, kudos on the great scoop, but it is a *major* spoiler.

@DCMarvelFreshman You already knew this, right?

THIS IS BIG. NOT WHAT I EXPECTED.

LOKI, YOU SURE MADE SOME SHADY DEALINGS.

OH MAN. THAT MAKES THIS NEW VILLAIN A PIMP, RIGHT?

Ah, you tricky guy. Your hint (when a user questioned you) from several weeks back makes sense now. Plus Joss said the antagonizing force would be an entirely new one. This gives Marvel the liberty to create a entirely new villain army just for this film.

Awesome!!! They are obviously setting him up to be in the sequel as the main villain. And I like how marvel quietly showed the gauntlet at sdcc 2 years ago but didn't talk about it. Sneaky little devils.
sexfoodcomics
sexfoodcomics - 9/12/2011, 4:57 PM
Also the gauntlet is really the only thing more powerful or as powerful then the cosmic cube so it would deb a worhty adversary for the sequel.

rockerdude22 - 9/12/2011, 4:57 PM
This might explain those set photos from a couple of weeks ago that were supposedly from the end of the film and Loki doesn't seem that hostile. Maybe Thanos betrays Loki near the end and Loki has to team up with the Avengers to stop him. Just a theory though.

@Greengo

Don't have to lie for the "non-spoiled" readers out there. Your reverse pychology won't work on them.

Guys, the spoiler says GALACTUS. He makes a shady deal with Loki and sends the Punishers (Big G's robots, which explains the mocap) to enslave Earth. THIS IS SO EPIC!!!!

Looks like Disney found a loophole against Fox.

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@grayfox117

There's plenty of reasons, maybe he is to fixated on the cosmic cube since he is full or rage and revenge it's clouding his judgment.

Maybe the gauntlet doenst have all the gems

Maybe Loki doenst understand it's true power

Maybe marvel doesn't care and just wants to make a sequel :)
rockerdude22
rockerdude22 - 9/12/2011, 5:01 PM
Also, if I remember correctly, there was a story in the comics where Thanos went to Earth to get the Cosmic Cube and the Avengers fight him. This occured before he went after the Infinity Gauntlet. Maybe they will do a similar story like that in the film.
chuckg313
chuckg313 - 9/12/2011, 5:02 PM
but i think fox mat still have the rights to galactus and maybe thanos...anyone know if marvel got them back after ff?
